I've heard that he's not exactly that popular anymore, but I was wondering if someone could tell me something more specific about how the psychology and/or psychiatry community deals with Jung these days. I use Jungian theory in my MA thesis and it would be nice to have some overview of how he's been received throughout the century.

It is easier to criticize than create. Jung's ideas and work were pioneering. That others have found a "better route" should not in any way diminish his accomplishment of blazing the first trails.

In my psyc undergrad, he was hardly ever talked about, taking a backseat to Freud because of their conflict towards the end, perhaps. Only in the history of psyc were his ideas more fully explored, but as a half year course, there wasn't much time for indepth explanations.
