Just curious. INTJs tend to retire early, perhaps they also finish work up early?

I can't do jack until it absolutely needs to get done, then I cram everything together in a wonderous and amazing package that only I could do in a very short timespan.

Stress works wonders!

O hours, but then I don't have a shift either. I'm a stay at home mom. (Yep, ENTJs can be happy doing this.)

When I did work...hhmm....depending upon the job. I tend to prefer to keep myself busy, so I'll find things to do so I feel productive.

I'm studying –self-study - around 12 hours now...even more
I'll probably work and study about 18 hours a day
But definitely will retire early

Probably around 5. I have a coworker that teaches HR classes at a local college. He claims asking more than 5 hours from technical professionals is unrealistic in an 8 hour day. Not sure how accurate that is, but it does seem to hold true for me. Of course, I often take some amount of work home at night and on the weekends (not much, maybe half an hours worth).

It depends. If I enjoy the work I tend to be very focused, 6 or 7 hours probably being the norm.

If I don't enjoy the work then 3-4 and I'm exhausted at the end of the day.

Your post presumes that the shift is only 8 hours long...

I have a mindless menial job where the only requirements are remembering to breathe and showing up on time. Since apparently the local "talent" is incapable of accomplishing these tasks, they pay a lot of moolah to those who actually, well, show up and remember to breathe. But I digress. During my 10-hour shifts, the only thing that works is my body. I essentially set it on autopilot and spend the whole shift thinking...

Well I tend to only work a good old 5 hours out of the 9, due to getting bored of same repetitive task over and over again.

But, hopefully I'll find something to my liking after I finish my studies.

I worked manual labor 12 hours a day in the summer. That was some fun ass shit. I could NEVER do that with a routine job though, or one that I had to sit all day.

Not to split hairs but I do 10 hr shifts. I usually only have 5-6 hours of on task work. If no one comes, I don't have anything to do and I can't exactly go and solicit work. I can't leave either as the place I work advertises 24 hr services. I finish my shit up quite fast and therefore create myself more down time.

I am like this as well. But I typically work 10+ hours in an 8 hour shift. If I really enjoy my work I can typically work without a break.

I do art so I don't have set hours....most of the time. 1 page a day is how long I work, not in hours.

But when it is hours, I work for the 8. The best and most creative ideas come when your putting gas in the car, at the checkout line, reading a book, etc. so I'll carry around a small sketchbook to take ideas down and draw in my own time. Creativity doesn't come when you want it to so you do have to do something else in order to bait it into sneaking up on you.

I found it difficult to answer the question.

I usually spend around 4-8 hours per day "at a desk working".
I have the flexibility to be able to work from home, or a number of office locations. This means I can work a few hours at one site, a few hours at home, and then a few hours elsewhere. I don't really have any fixed hours.

I also have long term projects where I can sit down for a few minutes, or up to an hour or so at any time day or night and work through the assignment (in my head). I do this in coffee shops, over lunch, or curled up on a sofa. Perhaps this is more like the creative process that Valiyn mentioned above.

I like to get everything done quickly so I'm not 'stuck' at work. I get paid the same for 1 hour or 8 hours, it usually averages out to 5-hour days.
