I was contemplating new options for american political parties.
Im a capitalist pig, hardline militant and support natural law/constitutional republic. The closest party representing these values might be libertarians. I would feel much better represented if there was a poltical party strictly for my state. In my opnion taking a parties focus off the federal government might be an effective method in reducing its power. Imagine for example if each state had a party focused soley on electing libertarians for the state. For example in california its typical for less than 10% of registered voters to successfuly control their congressional district out of the less than 30% who vote. |

There are hundreds (if not thousands) of political parties in the United States. Chances are, there are a few that would suit you well. The downside is that if your party became too popular, the two big parties would absorb it by gobbling up its ideas and dividing up its supporters.

What I seem collect from Americans and their issue with their nation. Is that it's to large. I say chop it up into smaller blocks. More easy to manage it that way. Plus the Texans, Californians and New Yorkers then don't have to be a pain in the ass for eachother. The Northern states and Alaska may be taken over by Canada.

Normally, parties are born out of cleavages

You currently have 0 posts. and I think to create a new political party you would have to find a core basis based on a cleavage that is not properly addressed by current politics. Some I can think of: Old people vs Young people Copyright vs free circulation of data (in Europe "pirate parties" address that) |
