INTJs fall in love?

Of course! It's just not a love-at-first-sight kind of thing; we all know that's nonsense. For INTJs (or at least for this one, anyway) falling in love is more like a process of elimination. We generally have a list of qualities we'd like in a mate, and then we decide, in a rational and methodical way, if the person we're interested in has all the most important qualities. We just don't throw ourselves in head-first, if that makes any sense.

Anyway. As far as fictional characters go, I'm usually a sucker for the rationals.

Sherlock Holmes. I've been in love with him since I was thirteen. He may seem cold at first, but there are hidden fires. Like me, he values reason, and doesn't let his emotions get in the way of common sense. Plus he's witty and wry and sardonic, and I love it. He's closer to my version of my "ideal guy" than all the REAL men I know.

Atticus Finch, from To Kill a Mockingbird. But who doesn't love him?

Edward Fairfax Rochester, from Jane Eyre. Pretty sure he's an ENTJ, but he's still a rational, so he stays in my harem - er, my list.

Jeeves, from the stories by P.G. Wodehouse. He's just such a genius. And I love the way he knows practically every Shakespeare quote off the top of his head.

Antonio Salieri. Not the real one, but the one from Peter Shaffer's Amadeus. He's so deliciously calculating and suave in his... evilness. Not that I'd actually want that in a relationship. I just find him cool.

Gandalf, from The Lord of the Rings. Weird, I know, considering that he's a bajillion years old, and a complete grouch. But he's also brilliant, wise, surprisingly funny, and just so friggin' GOOD. Not coincidentally, he's an INTJ too. And it's easy to see, when you're looking for all the signs: impatient with people less intelligent than him, has little use for social customs, doesn't recognize authority based on title alone, respect must be earned. Sound familiar?

Princess Leiah. A strong, powerful, badass woman, with a smartass attitude. I'd need my own (separate) house, but I'd still keep her.

The Confessor from "The Seeker".

Seven of Nine, Voyager

Abby from NCIS

The doctor from Patricia Cornwell's "Body Farm" books.

Oh... and Clarice from Silence of the Lambs.

I find Temperance Brennan's character to be very intriguing, from "Bones". Something about her I like, but not certain what it is.

And if I HAD to pick a man crush, I'd say Wolverine. Reclusive, blunt, and principled. Rogue digs him... I'd like that (if I were him).

I'm going to try to type them too.

ESTP Sawyer (Lost)
ESTP Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter)
INTJ Tom Riddle (Harry Potter) - When he's still charming, of course. He lost his sex appeal after those experiments he did on himself.
INTJ Sylar (Heroes)
ISTJ Vassili (Enemy at the Gates) - Jude Law is hot no matter who he plays, I'll admit that
INTJ Galen Marek (The Force Unleashed) - He was just so hot in the game.
ISTJ Obi-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars)
ISTJ Javert (Les Miserables) - I'd have to agree with Guardian here. But there's also
ENTJ Enjolras (Les Miserables) - He's awesomeness personified.
ISTP Legolas (LOTR) - Well, I'm sorry for being cliche...

Extroverts: ESTP and ENTJ
Introverts: INTJ, ISTJ, ISTP
Sensors: ESTP, ISTJ, ISTP
Intuitives: INTJ, ENTJ
Thinkers: ... all
Judgers: INTJ, ENTJ, ISTj
Perceivers: ESTP, ISTP

Well, there's also attractiveness, so I guess type doesn't fully explain why I like them.

Severus Snape and Albus Dumbledore from Harry Potter, Dr. Gregory House from House M.D., Alan Shore from Boston Legal, Billy Costigan from The Departed, and probably some more, though I can't think of them now.

Well, I have a very strict policy of not falling in love with fictional characters. But if you mean characters that display the sort of personality I find attractive it would be consistently Morticia Addams from the Addams Family and "Fred" (Amy Acker) from Angel.

Really? I love a lot of men from Rome. Awesome show. I hated Octavian in the second season though. Let's see. I loved Lucius and Pullo, Mark Antony and Cicero.

I've been listening to musicals lately, so let me add,

Melchior (from Spring Awakening)
Fiyero (from Wicked)
Christian (from Moulin Rouge. Ok. I know this isn't a musical)
Gary (from Avenue Q)

Already mentioned but ATTICUS FINCH from To Kill a Mockingbird.

Tough, tender, an intellectual, great with kids. Gregory Peck makes a good-looking Attticus. Here's some pics from the film.

My colleague's son is named after him. The little girl that plays Scout (Mary Badham, now an older woman) lives in my area and read from the book for a library fundraiser last year.

Also Indiana Jones, Jef Costello from Le Samourai. But Atticus is #1.

Sylar (Heroes)
Spock (The new Star Trek movie)

Actually if Zachary Quinto was a fictional character I'd put him on the list as well. Don't know why but there is something extremely attractive about that man.

Noah Bennet (Heroes)
Luke (Gilmore Girls)
Tom Riddle (Harry Potter) - Not really in love with him, but when I saw him as a little kid in the movie I couldn't help think that I wanted a kid like that. Without the hole being really, really evil thing of course

Christopher McCandless (Into the Wild) - Both book and movie

SHODAN (like duh!) from System Shock 1 and 2, the girl that would be a goddess. She is an artificial intelligence that had her "ethical constraint routines" removed by a hacker.

Fall-From-Grace is a succubus, one of the tanar'ri, a creature literally formed of raw chaos and evil, her body and mind the perfect template to tempt a man of any species, any age. She is the proprietress of the Brothel for Slating Intellectual Lusts.

One of hundreds of children, Fall-from-Grace was sold by her mother Red Shroud to the baatezu, the tanar'ri's mortal enemies. After suffering years of mental torture, she was able to trick her baatezu master and won herself her freedom.

Fall-From-Grace is a creature of contradictions. She is a cleric but worships no god. She is formed from pure chaos and evil, but is (apparently) lawful neutral with a good bent. Perhaps the oddest of all, she is a beautiful succubus, but is by all appearances chaste. While many in-game characters are quick to indicate her heritage and proclaim that she must have some sort of demonic and evil scheme, no such plot on her part is ever indicated.

Through force of will she becomes what she wants to be instead of what she is expected to be. She is intelligent, wise, courageous and noble. She always stands at the pinnacle of my fantasy women.

Her theme song.

The major is a very complex and deep character. The entire Ghost in the Shell is cyberpunk at it's finest.
