I'm a coxswain (for those who are unfamiliar with Crew, I steer the boat, make tactical decisions during races and serve as an assistant coach on occasion). I was wondering if anyone else here was an INTJ cox and had insight on your experiences.
As a freshman novice, I had a lot of trouble because I was seen as being too tentative and not assertive enough (I'm average height, while most male coxswains are short and have napoleonic egos). As INTJs know, I was merely being very observant and made the effort to absorb in as much knowledge as possible.
Also, the team is full of extroverts and my coach is an E?TJ, so while I'm very loud and confident during races, I don't think that they respect me as much off the water because I'm shy. Has anyone else encountered this?
