PBS is one of the main things I watch on TV.
I also watch reality shows, mainly Survivor and Big Brother. I don't watch any scripted shows, except sometimes a sci-fi series. I can't stand Desperate Housewives. |

I'm a fan of the Nova series on PBS. I usually stream them from my PC. Come to think of it, I maybe spend an hour a week actually watching tv. Maybe.

I don't watch all that much TV.
Although PBS is probably one of the only stations I do watch if I turn on the set. |

I'll watch PBS if it has Nova or a historical piece on. I probably half watch/half laptop 4 hours a week.

Nova, Masterpiece Theatre, and more. I am with the others here that say they do not watch much TV. By and large, it is a vacuous wasteland.

I like Nova, Masterpiece Theater, Independent Lens, cooking shows- especially America's Test Kitchen. But I don't have TV anymore, so that was then.

I love PBS, though I am a bit disappointed at the air time given to salesmen such as Dr. Amen and Dr. Hyman lately. I enjoy Nova and Independent Lens. I also think Charlie Rose is an exceptionally gifted interviewer, so I catch that show sometimes.
I also, uh... like.. Curious George. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |

Yeah, I've noticed lately that my local PBS has gotten deep into the pseudo-scientific infomercials. Wayne Dyer, Suze Orman, that Fiber 25 lady, Daniel Amen, etc. I'm always disappointed to turn on the TV and see these.
Oh, and the Celtic Woman and Doo Wop concerts, and their ilk. Ick. (How do you mix concert and commercial - concermercial?) |

I like Masterpiece, Rick Steves' travel show, Test Kitchen, Frontline, Global Trekker, American Masters, American Experience.
Growing up, watched Sesame Street/ Reading Rainbow/ Electric Company. Agree with cancelling the infomericals, I am also not a fan of Andre Rieu. |

Now that the airwaves have gone digital my rabbit ear antenna is completely useless. They never got used much anyway.
I really like NOVA programs as well. I grew up watching Sesame Street, Puzzle Place, Ghost Wrighter, Wishbone, and other at least semi-educational childrens programming. |

I loved PBS as a kid. Sesame Street, Mister Rogers, Reading Rainbow, and a few others were the shows I watched. Nowadays I rarely watch TV, but I enjoy Nova and similar shows a lot.

I don't regularly watch anything on PBS. Not since they took Monty Python off years ago.

they have some great programs; i resent them in general because of their liberal news stance, and bill moyers, but i love nova and some of the other programs. i call 'all things considered' 'some things spun'.
all in all, they do an adequate job, way the hell better than 'the major over the air' networks. woodright shop is one of my favorites. he's funky, but i had no idea how they used to do veneer during the 1800s....fascinating. he once helped fit a wagon wheel, also. |

Back when I had TV, my favorite show was on PBS, granted it was originally aired on BBC3. It's called Spy. It's a British reality show. I also liked watching Irashai (sp?), a Japanese language learning program. Some PBS documentaries are interesting, but beyond the mentioned, I didn't really watch PBS much.

I occasionally watch Nova and Nature, and I really enjoyed the Ken Burns documentary on the National Parks they aired a few weeks ago. When I lived in Pennsylvania, I actually appeared on a quiz bowl type show for high schools students called Scholastic Scrimmage, which my family would watch.

I used to watch PBS for Nova, Bob Ross, Red Green Show. The children shows were a staple in my child hood and I will forever miss being in kindergarten because of it.

PBS is the only thing I'll watch willingly... too bad all my roomies have to have it on 24/7.
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. BBQ University, America's Test Kitchen, History Detectives, Antiques Roadshow, Julia Child, Red Green Show, and Bob Ross are the tops of my list. Unfortunately, they removed Mr. Roger's Neighborhood from their playlist a year ago! I was crushed, even as an adult that was my favorite show. I would wake up every morning, eat a bowl of cereal, and watch it. Now? Fuggin' Sesame Street. Blech. Mornings are bleak and dreary now. I can't stand the guy who does the New Yankee Workshop and This Old House (Norm Abrams, is it?) All he knows how to do is assemble stuff together using hundreds of different tools (and if you don't have that tool, too bad for you!) The Woodright's Shop seems like the only real decent "you will learn something" craftman's show on PBS. All the rest... they're mindlessly hammering nails and boards together. No art, whatsoever. |

Totally agree with you here. I do cabinetwork with less than half the tools he uses. My woodshop is my hiding place. |

I've been known to watch PBS myself, especially for The New Yankee Workshop and The News Hour with Jim Lehrer.
People who watched the News Hour, along with those who got their news from National Public Radio, were less likely than viewers of any other newscast to believe three central misconceptions associated with the invasion of Iraq: 1) that there were links between Iraq and al-Qaeda; 2) that weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq; 3) world public opinion favored a war between the US and Iraq. That includes CNN and the Big Three television networks (NBC, ABC, CBS) as well as Fox News. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |

I love PBS. I grew up on Sesame Street and Mr. Roger's Neighborhood.
I love the travel shows like Globe Trekker, Rick Steve's Europe, and Rudy Maxa's World. I'm also a big fan of documentaries and shows like History Detectives, Nature, American Experience, Independent Lens, and the Simon Schama's The Power of Art and WIRED Science (although the last two don't come on anymore). PBS has been my platform to international shows, especially British ones. In fact, PBS is the reason I became a fan of Doctor Who (9&10) and My Hero. Try as I might, I just can't keep up with Eastenders... Sometimes I think I watch too much PBS. 'Thing is, you'll never catch me donating a cent to this station.
