Change Two Letters - Ultra Advanced, changing word length!

Here are the rules. Each word, you must change one letter to another, and either subtract or add one letter to the word. You may not go below 4 letters, or above 10 letters.

Examples:

stop => store

trains => trips (dropped the "a", and changed the n to a "p")

"floatation" is not a valid change, since it involves two letter additions, one letter drop, and one letter change, so note the word is still "notations"

I find it funny that all this time that initial "a" seems to be the only letter left from the original word, with the -ted having gone and come again as we went...
