Granted. All of your enemies are dancing on your grave.

I wish that I had my very own harp to play.

Granted, for just today you are the greatest concert pianist ever. Boy can you play. Tomorrow your heart will break because you can never, ever repeat that performance. The rest of your life is just a series of disappointments after that.

I wish I'd heard you play.

Granted. You heard and were transformed.

Bathe'd in light and life, you grokked the nature of Creation. You choose now to wander, joyfully, in blind sack cloth, for your remaining days.

I wish you'd take me with you.

Granted, ROAD TRIP! You can be Thelma, I'll be Louise. Pack your parachute and keep your eyes peeled for Brad Pitt.

(ok not much of a corruption but it does end badly)

I wish every day was Sunday.

Granted. People now call you Ol' Googly-Eyes. But it's with affection.

I wish for more mint sauce.

Granted. You get an exclusive three-month bike tour through the wilderness with him.

I wish this would happen more often.

Granted. However, you live to discover that "that" was where the action really was all along. If only you'd listened to your mother and worn an extra woolly jumper.

I wish I had the voice of an angel.

Granted. Unfortunately, this requires that in every conversation you'll have to wing it.

I wish for a swim.

Granted, but it's that super annoying Philly cream cheese advertising one that everyone hates.

Granted. There is a knock on the door and you receive the neighbour's delivery by mistake. But for one week, you can survive on liver, durian and gefilte fish, surely.

I wish they never deliver here.

Granted. The reasons they cease to deliver include the sudden change in neighborhood quality. Change your locks.

I wish for no more spiders.

I wish to withdraw.

You can draw beautifully, but can only draw pictures of subjects that do not interest you. The moment you care about wanting to draw something, you lose the ability. When you don't care, you have no motivation. Therefore, while you have this ability, you rarely use it.

I wish that I were more useful toward positive causes.

Granted, but you are so useful that every positive cause fights over you, forgetting about the cause and eventually causing you to have a nervous breakdown from the stress of all of them clamoring for you.

I wish the world was taco shaped.

Granted. The LHC causes the world to explode and break in half. Earth is now taco shaped.

I wish SJ people didn't fear progress.

Granted. Problem solved as we all go around fearing progress. They give us a name...the Muddites... for our propensity for covering all new, cool things with giant vats of mud. We now also worry about the shortage of usuable mud which is impeding the retardation of progress.

I wish for a large slab of bread pudding.

Granted. In fact, I have arranged to re-pave the entire walkway with them and add an ornamental custard pool.

I wish for a piece of mind.

Granted. As soon as we get the power back on, you can flip the switch. But that may be awhile.

I wish for space.

Granted. Here's a ten foot pole. That should make parking easier.

I wish for things to be the way they never were.
