Are you a very organised person?

I would think that INTJ's should, in theory, but so, and have their rooms tidy and what not.

Everything I have is a mess. A serious, serious mess. Now I can organise a mess and fix it, but when it comes to my room, desk, school bag and what not I just have no desire and it goes out of control.

Can anyone relate? I'm just wondering if its an INTJ thing or not.

If you read anything about the INTJs or MBTI theory, you'd know that J types tend to be more organized, so it's an INTJ thing to be more organized.

A somewhat dogmatic oversimplification. There's a lot in the literature about SJ vs. NJ, with NJs definitely coming out as spacier and less organized.

My preference is for organization, but I often neglect to do it. Preference != action, heh.

I'm organized in thoughts and ideas and in my own way, everything is in lists and orders and comaprtments.

But I'm lazy. So things can be cluttered and not tidy. However, to me, they're still organized because they're in places that make sense to me, even if they look messy to outsiders. It drives me nuts if someone "cleans up" for me because then I can't find anything.

Well yeah SJ is more organized than NJ, but NJ is still organized, in general.

Exactly. The level of clutter has certainly gotten worse over time, but I can still go directly to what I need even when there are multiple stacks. Any flat space eventually becomes like virtual memory for me and I have to work to contain things to my personal space. Even that drives me wife nuts though and I've forever lost some things she's "organized" for me.

I'm not exactly all that great about lists anymore. I still make them, either on paper or electronically, but I refer to them less and less. Just the process of writing out the list has become enough for me to remember the 90% that really matters so it's faster to pull from memory than to find the list. Anything really important is likely listed in multiple places anyway.

I used to be very unorganized but for the sake of school I always have a clean work space (and room in general). It's gotten so that I can't focus until everything is out of the way so I can put all my attention to one single project.

I'm also prone to making lists of what I should focus on doing first (usually getting the smaller tasks out of the way so the list becomes smaller and easier to manage).
