This is the part where I'm supposed to say something witty, isn't it.

Hmm...

What will pique their interest, these strange people. A puzzle? Maybe. A debate? oooo...

So, where does the apostrophe go?

y'all or ya'll?

Apostrophes are used to mark where items are left out.

Example: o'clock = of the clock

As such, it is properly spelled: y'all. This is shortened from "you all".

Consider the possibility that the contraction is derived from ya all...

A very belated welcome, Gnome!

We've chatted a bit elsewhere, but how are you enjoying the forum so far? See anything of interest here?

In case there's anything you haven't picked up yet:

Check out the forum reference guide here. It has a summary of what type of posting is, and is not, allowed/encouraged on the forum. I recommend looking at it to avoid ridicule, post deletion, and possible death.

If you're looking for more info than that, you can read almost everything you need to know about the forum here, and a few more miscellaneous questions about forum features are answered by this thread here.

If you have questions not covered by these links, or need help with some aspect of the forum, you can create a thread in the Support & Feedback section, or contact one of the moderators on this list.

Please, continue to enjoy!
