For a few days it is making available for use of others. This video, better than anything else I've seen, articulates why it's important for all of us, but especially artists, to support fair use and use

licenses, in the face of the efforts by ginormous media companies to scrape their profits off artists by using severely tightened intellectual property laws.

The video includes Girltalk, Lessig and Doctorow, among others....

have you been thread stalking me? see 'first mp3'.....

no, artists cannot save culture. there is no fucking culture....humans have no culture, no iq, nothing but pack behaviour. the 'grouped' humans have more power than the anarchists. the dna collectivists will shortly decide who is to be born, who will die. copyrights will control art. as the psalmist said 'there is nothing new under the sun', and i believe that anything purported to be so will be under copyright, if the controller has enough money.

creative commons is not going to stand against the corporations...they intend to strike fear into the hearts of everyone who is not part of 'the system'. only those with nothing to lose will be free...remember 'max headroom', the tv show? we are headed there....the system is moving us like cows to the corral. the books i 'm reading...my god. very sad, but the wilderness has gone away from us; the jungle is upon us instead. the jungle of the powerful controlling the weak....our government is non-existent; our laws favor the rich. gutsy young people can survive temporarily, but are controlled nonetheless if they get too 'uppity'.

jeezus! "S one of Those Kinda Days, eh, Reb....? I hope your vision isn't correct ....

I do think we are reaching a watershed, tho around the ability of the state to monitor us. Electronic data, by its nature, has fingerprints and leaves "snail trails." In the UK, the ISPs are fighting against an effort by British government's proposed £2 billion plan to construct a massive "Big Brother" database and surveillance system

schwartzie,

i think this is a clear indication of my 'max headroom' reference. many of us will go back to the old ways to stay away from these nitwit power mongers. face to face communication is now monitorable at a long distance; pictures can be taken nearly anywhere from a distance. there are infrared machines, supposedly only used by the swat teams to see where their perp is in a dwelling or building....yeah, right...i can see some perverts using that for their own laughs. infrared porn...lol!

i guess i default to 'what are they going to do? put us ALL in jail?' i'm only trapped in my body....the hell with them.

how can we possibly encode enough to beat this? remember the post i made about upc's? rfid's....i refuse to get so paranoid i can't function, and i'm going to enjoy my life, no matter what these...i can't even think of a word for my disdain i feel for them. ick.
