I wondered if this would have any correlation with being an INTJ, especially in the case of females.

I scored 0. Therefore, my brain is apparently gender neutral. Here is my rather lengthy list of results if anyone is interested:

Angles: 16/20

You found this test neither hard nor easy. This suggests your brain has male and female traits when it comes to spatial ability.

Spot the Difference: 50%

You may have a balanced female-male brain.

Hands:Left thumb on top.

Left thumb on top: This suggests the right half of your brain is dominant. Some studies theorise that as a right brain dominant person, you may excel in visual, spatial and intuitive processes.

Emotions and Systems: Empathising = 2/20
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Systemising = 9/20

Eyes: 8/10

Your result suggests you are a good empathiser, sensitive to other people's emotions. Women generally fall into this category. :-?

Faces: You tend to prefer masculine faces

Interestingly, women's preferences are said to vary across the menstrual phase. A more masculine face is preferred during the 9 days prior to ovulation, when conception is most likely.

I guess this must be true as the last time I took my test all my other answers were the same except for this one where I apparently preferred men with more feminine faces.

3D Shapes: 10/12

Are you an engineer or do you have a science background? [Nope] People with these skills tend to score in this range. Past studies have concluded that people in this range have a more male brain.

Words: 7 with grey, 9 with happy.

Most people in this range have a female-type brain.

Ultimatum: I split it equally, £25 each. I think I'd just feel guilty otherwise. That and trying to rip someone off is just unnecessary hassle.

So...after all that...what did you guys get?

Angles:
Your score: 14 out of 20
Average score for men: 15.1 out of 20
Average score for women: 13.3 out of 20

If you scored 13 - 17: You found this test neither hard nor easy. This suggests your brain has male and female traits when it comes to spatial ability.

-----------

Spot the Difference:
Your score: 57%
Average score for men: 39%
Average score for women: 46%

If you scored between 34 - 66%: You may have a balanced female-male brain.

------------

Hands:
You said your left thumb was on top when you clasped your hands together.

Left thumb on top: This suggests the right half of your brain is dominant. Some studies theorise that as a right brain dominant person, you may excel in visual, spatial and intuitive processes.

-------------

Emotions and Systems:
Empathising

Your empathy score is: 6 out of 20
Average score for men: 7.9 out of 20
Average score for women: 10.6 out of 20

Systemising

Your systemising score is: 7 out of 20
Average score for men: 12.5 out of 20
Average score for women: 8 out of 20

----------------

Eyes:
Your score: 8 out of 10
Average score for men & women: 6.6 out of 10

If you scored 7 - 10: Your result suggests you are a good empathiser, sensitive to other people's emotions. Women generally fall into this category. *(Yet I scored below average on the last empathizing test...how odd)

-------------

Fingers:
Right Hand: 1.07
Left Hand: 1.07

Average ratio for men: 0.982
Average ratio for women: 0.991
Men generally have a ring finger that is longer than their index finger, which gives them a lower ratio than women, whose ring and index fingers are usually of equal length.

--------

3D Shapes:
Your score: 12 out of 12
Average score for men: 8.2 out of 12
Average score for women: 7.1 out of 12

If you scored 10 - 12: Are you an engineer or do you have a science background? (No and no) People with these skills tend to score in this range. Past studies have concluded that people in this range have a more male brain.

---------

Words:
Your score: you associated 11 word(s) with grey and you named 9 word(s) that mean happy. We are assuming that all the words you entered are correct. (Of course they are, silly test. I wouldn't type the wrong word.)

Average score for men: 11.4 words total
Average score for women: 12.4 words total

If you produced 6 - 10 words: Most people in this range have a female-type brain. (I had 20 total...does that make me a super-female, or simply verbose?)

---------

Ultimatum:
If you had to split £50 with someone, you said you would demand £25 (It's only fair, right?)

So far on the Sex ID test, men have demanded 51.6% (£25.80) of the pot and women have demanded 51.0% (£25.50), on average.

-------------

My personal brain score was 0. *Apparently I'm neither male nor female. *Interesting.

I am a man wootz... qwerty 2 internet 0

Angles
This task tested your ability to identify the angle of a line by matching it with its twin. This is a spatial task, which looks at how you picture space.
Your score: 19 out of 20
Average score for men: 15.1 out of 20
Average score for women: 13.3 out of 20
What does your result suggest?
If you scored 0 - 12: You have more of a female brain. Scientists believe that people with a female brain find it more difficult to judge the slope of a line because they're not wired for spatial tasks. In past studies, 65 per cent of people who scored in this range were women.
If you scored 13 - 17: You found this test neither hard nor easy. This suggests your brain has male and female traits when it comes to spatial ability.
If you scored 18 - 20: You have more of a male brain. On average, men outperform women in this task and those with more mathematical knowledge tend to score quite high as well. In past studies, 60 per cent of the people in this range were men.

Spot the difference
This task tested your ability to identify which objects changed position. You lost points, if you incorrectly identified objects.
Your score: 21%
Average score for men: 39%
Average score for women: 46%
What does your score suggest?
If you scored between 0 - 33%: You may have more of a male brain. Scientists say men tend to under perform in this task. The corpus callosum, the part of the brain that links the right and left hemispheres, is a fifth larger in women. This means women can process visual and other signals at the same time more easily than men. There is also a theory that oestrogen levels in women give them an added advantage in spatial memory.
If you scored between 34 - 66%: You may have a balanced female-male brain.
If you scored between 67 - 100%: Those with a female-type brain generally score in this range. Your ability to remember where objects are may serve as an advantage to you when you're trying to find your way around places. You're more capable of recalling landmarks to get from one place to another.

Hands
You said your left thumb was on top when you clasped your hands together.
Right thumb on top: This suggests the left half of your brain is dominant. Many studies have tried to establish whether there is a relationship between handedness and brain dominance. Some scientists believe that if you are left brain dominant, you would be more verbal and analytical.
Left thumb on top: This suggests the right half of your brain is dominant. Some studies theorise that as a right brain dominant person, you may excel in visual, spatial and intuitive processes.

Empathising
Your empathy score is: 8 out of 20
Average score for men: 7.9 out of 20
Average score for women: 10.6 out of 20

Systemising
Your systemising score is: 17 out of 20
Average score for men: 12.5 out of 20
Average score for women: 8.0 out of 20
What does your result suggest?
Systemisers prefer to investigate how systems work. A system can be a road map, flat pack furniture, or a mathematical equation – anything that follows a set of rules. A score of 15 and above suggests you're good at analysing or building systems. Men in general are better at systemising.

Emotions
This task tested your ability to judge people's emotions.
Your score: 6 out of 10
Average score for men: 6.6 out of 10
Average score for women: 6.6 out of 10
What does your result suggest?
If you scored 0 - 3: Do you think you're good at judging how another person is feeling? Your score suggests this doesn't come to you quite so naturally.
If you scored 4 - 6: Your result suggests you have a balanced female-male brain and find it neither easy nor difficult to judge people's emotions.
If you scored 7 - 10: Your result suggests you are a good empathiser, sensitive to other people's emotions. Women generally fall into this category.
Professor Baron-Cohen at the University of Cambridge says that people usually perform better than they expect to on this test.

Hands
We asked you to measure your ring and index fingers. Your ratios came to:
Right Hand: 0.91
Left Hand: 0.97
Average ratio for men: 0.982
Average ratio for women: 0.991
It's thought that your ratio is governed by the amount of testosterone you were exposed to in your mother's womb. The ratio of the length of your index finger to the length of your ring finger is set for life by as early as three months after conception. Even during puberty, when we experience intensive hormonal changes, the ratio stays the same.
Men generally have a ring finger that is longer than their index finger, which gives them a lower ratio than women, whose ring and index fingers are usually of equal length.

Attraction
This task looked at how you rate the attractiveness of a series of faces. The images you looked at were digitally altered to create slight differences in masculinity.
Your choices suggest you prefer more feminine faces.
Highly masculinised male faces possess more extreme testosterone markers such as a long, broad and lower jaw, as well as more pronounced brow ridges and cheekbones.
Interestingly, women's preferences are said to vary across the menstrual phase. A more masculine face is preferred during the 9 days prior to ovulation, when conception is most likely.
A typical 'attractive' female face possesses features such as a shorter, narrower, lower jaw, fuller lips and larger eyes than an average face.

Spatial
This task tested your ability to mentally rotate 3D shapes.
Your score: 12 out of 12
Average score for men: 8.2 out of 12
Average score for women: 7.1 out of 12
What does your result suggest?
If you scored 0 - 6: Do you find yourself having to physically rotate a map to point in the direction in which you're travelling? This might explain why you scored in the lower range in the 3D shapes test. Twice as many women as men score in this category. Previous studies suggest that those with a female-type brain or with an arts background fall into this range.
If you scored 7 - 9: In past studies, 50 per cent of the people who scored in this range were women and 50 per cent were men.
If you scored 10 - 12: Are you an engineer or do you have a science background? People with these skills tend to score in this range. Past studies have concluded that people in this range have a more male brain.
Nearly a third of men who took this test got full marks, whereas less than 10 per cent of women managed the same. Find out why.
Your score: you associated 12 word(s) with grey and you named 11 word(s) that mean happy. We are assuming that all the words you entered are correct.
Average score for men: 11.4 words total

Empathisers are better at accurately judging other people's emotions and responding appropriately. If you scored 15 and above, you are very empathic and would be an ideal person to comfort people in a time of crisis. Women in general are better at empathising.

Systemising

Your systemising score is: 15 out of 20
Average score for men: 12.5 out of 20

Average score for men: 11.4 words total
Average score for women: 12.4 words total

What does your result suggest?

If you produced 1 - 5 words: You are more of the strong, silent type with a male brain. You probably find it easier to express yourself in non-verbal ways, preferring action rather than words.

If you produced 6 - 10 words: Most people in this range have a female-type brain.

I remember taking this test a while back, got 50 on the male side. Average-high with angles, good with shape-rotation, terrible with spot the difference, average on eyes, low empathising and systemising score, longer ring finger, prefer more masculine faces, associate a more female-typical number of words, demand exactly half the pot.

I find it interesting we all split the ultimatum down the middle. I mean, it does make the most sense to me, it's just that I was surprised at the test results that people would either asked for a higher or lower share. I don't understand, based on that question, what would make people think they were entitled to more or less.

I was wondering the same thing. I guess they expect people to be greedy?

The decision doesn't really seem to be about how much you want. While greed is a factor, it's balanced against your sense of justice, here, and it's a constant force pushing for as much as you can get away with. You're giving Random Stranger B the choice of, "You get (50-X) money, or nothing, where nothing = peace of mind for your own sense of justice." How much is the "Hey, you'd do the same thing to me, if the tables were turned" really a part of anyone's set of assumptions about interacting with other people? Apparently, it's stronger in Spain. How many people would, given the choice between, "Random Stranger A gets 50 pounds or nothing," choose that the other person benefits? And, then, how much does the knowledge that Random Stranger A is choosing his own gain over yours going to sway that?

So, apparently, the people who took the even split are
- going for the assured money (minimal reason for the other person to turn the money down), playing cautiously;
- really focusing on their own end of the decision to the exclusion of analyzing the other person's decision;
- or driven more strongly by a sense of justice than a desire for whatever money represents.

I think that averages between notably different culture groups are probably the most interesting way to go with the collected data. I'm not terribly surprised that there's little difference between male and female response, though it makes sense that such a potential divide might be considered. Seems like most of the people who answered for this particular poll are more interested in the reliable outcome? Low occurrence of risk-taking personalities who spend significant enough time in front of computers to take the test?

I did this test a while back and I scored 25% male. I don't have the results anymore. The results didn't surprise me at all. Cool test though.

I've taken this before. I got 0. For each test, I usually scored higher than the average male on the "male" tasks and higher than the average female on the "female" ones. And I'm female.

It's official. My father gave me the wrong chromosome at the time of conception. I scored 89% male.

I'm a female, by the way.

The data so far that I find most interesting is that most of us INTJ scored low on the empathising and High on Systemizing which is consistant with BEING an INTJ.

And as for the ultimatum. I guess I'm just to aggressive/competitive. If offer you 10 pounds or nothing I expect you to take it. If you don't take it... well that's just stupid.

Only if money is more important than revenge.

Revenge is almost always an emotional reaction to a percieved injustice. In this case you start out with nothing and it is decided that it is up to me to decide how I will split the money. As long as I offer some portion higher than zero to you, it would be an illogical, emotional response to refuse to take it.

Wow. I'm an average man.

Your score for each task

Angles

Your score: 16 out of 20
Average score for men: 15.1 out of 20
Average score for women: 13.3 out of 20

Spot the difference

Your score: 14%
Average score for men: 39%
Average score for women: 46%

Emotions and Systems

Your empathy score is: 6 out of 20
Average score for men: 7.9 out of 20
Average score for women: 10.6 out of 20

Your systemising score is: 15 out of 20
Average score for men: 12.5 out of 20
Average score for women: 8.0 out of 20

Eyes

Your score: 7 out of 10
Average score for men: 6.6 out of 10
Average score for women: 6.6 out of 10

Fingers

Right Hand: 0.96
Left Hand: 0.92

Average ratio for men: 0.982
Average ratio for women: 0.991

Faces

Your choices suggest you prefer more feminine faces.

3D shapes

Your score: 12 out of 12
Average score for men: 8.2 out of 12
Average score for women: 7.1 out of 12

Words

Your score: you associated 14 word(s) with grey and you named 6 word(s) that mean happy. We are assuming that all the words you entered are correct.
Average score for men: 11.4 words total
Average score for women: 12.4 words total

Ultimatum

If you had to split £50 with someone, you said you would demand £25

So far on the Sex ID test, men have demanded 51.6% (£25.80) of the pot and women have demanded 51.0% (£25.50), on average.

[edit]I have no idea why anyone would try to cheat on someone with the ultimatum. I assume that both have equal rights to the money, why try to get more if it's not rightfully yours? I have to say I agree with Jezebel 100%.

Also, I scored WAY better than I expected in the empathy tests, specially with the eyes. 70% accurate results in the eyes test? WOW! And I was pleasantly surprised with the last one, the one about 3D shapes. I wasn't expecting to get them all right. Computing error or dumb luck?[/edit]

I took this awhile ago and apparently I have a male brain. I've checked and I'm still female.

Off Topic: This is why I would hate going to an all girls school. No one who thinks like me.

Angles

This task tested your ability to identify the angle of a line by matching it with its twin. This is a spatial task, which looks at how you picture space.
Your score: 13 out of 20
Average score for men: 15.1 out of 20
Average score for women: 13.3 out of 20

Your score: 29%

Emotions and Systems

This task looked at whether you prefer to empathise or systemise.
Empathising

Your empathy score is: 1 out of 20
Average score for men: 7.9 out of 20
Average score for women: 10.6 out of 20

What does your result suggest?

Empathisers are better at accurately judging other people's emotions and responding appropriately. If you scored 15 and above, you are very empathic and would be an ideal person to comfort people in a time of crisis. Women in general are better at empathising.

Systemising

Your systemising score is: 15 out of 20
Average score for men: 12.5 out of 20
Average score for women: 8.0 out of 20

What does your result suggest?

Systemisers prefer to investigate how systems work. A system can be a road map, flat pack furniture, or a mathematical equation – anything that follows a set of rules. A score of 15 and above suggests you're good at analysing or building systems. Men in general are better at systemising.

Eyes

This task tested your ability to judge people's emotions.
Your score: 7 out of 10
Average score for men: 6.6 out of 10
Average score for women: 6.6 out of 10

What does your result suggest?

If you scored 0 - 3: Do you think you're good at judging how another person is feeling? Your score suggests this doesn't come to you quite so naturally.

If you scored 4 - 6: Your result suggests you have a balanced female-male brain and find it neither easy nor difficult to judge people's emotions.

If you scored 7 - 10: Your result suggests you are a good empathiser, sensitive to other people's emotions. Women generally fall into this category.

Fingers

We asked you to measure your ring and index fingers. Your ratios came to:
Right Hand: 1.01
Left Hand: 1.01

Average ratio for men: 0.982
Average ratio for women: 0.991

Faces

This task looked at how you rate the attractiveness of a series of faces. The images you looked at were digitally altered to create slight differences in masculinity.

Your choices suggest you prefer more feminine faces.

3D shapes

This task tested your ability to mentally rotate 3D shapes.

Your score: 11 out of 12
Average score for men: 8.2 out of 12
Average score for women: 7.1 out of 12

Words

This task looked at your verbal fluency.

Your score: you associated 0 word(s) with grey and you named 5 word(s) that mean happy. We are assuming that all the words you entered are correct. (not exactly sure what happened here - I did enter a series of words on the grey section but it appears they got lost in transit or something)

Ultimatum

This task asked you how you would divide money.

If you had to split £50 with someone, you said you would demand £25

Not sure I get this last one - it makes no mention of the merits of the two persons involved, only that we've both taken this quiz - why should one get more than the other? Seems silly to me.

Apparently it rated me 50 - male with a male brain.

I took the test about six months ago. I'm a male, and that was overwhelming my result on the test too...estimated scores follow:

Angles: 19 of 20

object recollection: pathetic, well under 20%, probably closer to 10%

right thumb on top

empathy score: about 4 or 5, possibly 6

systematizing score: about 17 or 18 (yeah, I don't get out much...)

eyes: 9 of 10 (I swear the one I missed wasn't _any_ of the four options!

(can't recall digit ratios well enough to estimate, but they were definitely closer to .85 than .1)

I preferred more feminine faces.

3d rotation: 10-11, I think

word association: uh, it was somewhere north of 40... actually I think it was just over 50, but I definitely took some liberties by using extended definitions.

ultimatum: 25 pounds
