"Dream job" does sound a bit cliche, but I can't think of a better way to put it simply.

I try to keep from "dreaming", per say, and force myself to stay in the mindset of planning, however unrealistic or implausible my "plans" might be.

At the very least, assuming I can avoid most major setbacks (like tearing every ligament in my ankle and not being forced to limp around for a year, or getting a double-dose of mono followed by a rare case of adult chicken pox), I want to eventually achieve (not necessarily in this order):

- Regularly published, if not bestselling novelist
- Some modeling and acting abroad in Asia
- Open two lines of clothing/apparel, one athletic and one high-end (not necessarily, but preferably in the US)
- Achieve some degree of success as a comedian, be it in stand-up, writing, film, comics, or otherwise
- Open a restaurant
- Make enough to support myself comfortably while writing indefinitely

As INTJs I'm sure there are others here who approach their interests and goals as strategically, or more so than I. Also, if anybody shares common interests with me I would be happy to know, as it is always nice to find like-minded individuals.

Porn star.

I've had people tell me I should just go into porn...

Assuming that it wouldn't adversely affect my career if I ever decided to move on, I am still a germphobe and the nationwide STD statistics don't lean in the favor of those in the industry.

What is your dream job?

is it a scientist?

I would have to say Crime Scene Cleaner and/or Fighter Pilot. I did want to be a pilot at one time for the military, however, my vision is terrible. I have severe myopia. So I'd have to go with Crime Scene Cleaner.

Idealy... Nothing... Realisticaly there are several jobs and will likely take the following order (If I pull my act together).

Chemist/Mathematician in a research position.
A year living a nomadic lifestyle in Mongolia.
Part time lecturer and part time Author (fiction).

And somewhere along the line I need to perfect my cookie recipe.

My dream job would be either

Singer/Composers - but note I get as much time as I want making songs none of this deadline crap it leads to anxiety and I just dont need that. But realisticaly I know that the world runs on time and so the anxiety begins.

Video Game Programmer/Designer - I want the ability to make somthing new in the video game world not somthing that has been done before like a eskimo fishing game.

I have my dream job. I make good money working in book publishing, and I get to work from home. But if someone wanted to pay me just as much to sail around the Caribbean and/or the Med, I would certainly consider it.

I'm planning on majoring in Computer Science, so I would love to have a great job in that field.

For me, the ultimate job would be a Software Engineer or Programmer for Microsoft. *sigh*

The more I think about it, the more I realise my dream job would be being rich and not having a job...
I would jetset and sail around the world seeing every part of every country.
I would try every experience possible - paid trips into space anyone?
I would learn instruments, write books, create terrible art.
I would go out to see movies, theater, comedy, music all the time.
I would get my racing license and compete in amateur rallying and racing.

I could go on forever...but none of them would involve any sort of 'working'...

I'm planning to go into academia, but I'd like to be able to teach but continue attending classes as a student as well. Basically, a professional student.

Most Uni's offer free classes to their instructors so this should be achievable.

I would write non fiction for a living. In real life I am going to graduate school for a degree in Information Management. Interesting enough, but a second choice.

+1

I am doing what I have wanted to do as a young'n.

These days, I look to forward to retiring early and be a furniture maker specialising in chairs, or work with dobermanns for search and rescue.

I think it would be really interesting to be a govt. hacker or something in linguistics/signals but I'm sure the latter would get boring quickly.

My dream is always to run a company that leads the way in innovative technology, and that also heavily contributes in taking the entire world in to the future.

I'd like to fence off a big chunk of property and raise cattle and grow grain and vegetables. I'd go hunting all the time and if I had any spare time I'd like to have a machine shop and a woodworking shop to mess around in.

An artist/writer/photographer/film-maker. It would be so perfect to earn a living by emptying out the stuff that is in my head.

Yeah, I'm seriously thinking about just moving to Russia one day and becoming a farmer...

that would be my dream job.

A famous secret agent.

I hope you're aware of the inherent contradiction there.
