Concerning results that are split, anyone have results similar to mine? I've read somewhere that if your results come out in the middle that, somewhere along the lines of, '(the individual) may be having trouble expressing his/her true personality at this time ... ect'
But i've taken the MBTI ( To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. ) in a course of 3-times; my senior year in high school (2006), sometime around (2008), and recently in (2009) and my results remained the almost identical from one another..
with the exception of E/I |

I can't imagine why there would be a rule that you can't be in the middle. Why would you be required to get test results that show you polarize your preferences? Maybe you just don't. (Pointless if someone were to say you should, anyway.) Maybe you just happen to be pretty balanced out.
Though I suppose there should be a "type" for that- people who are right in the middle of all the preferences? AAAA? (A for To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. Scores for each sub scale are normally distributed, so most people score pretty close to 50%.
The test is supposed to measure a preference, but not the strength of that preference, I think a high score just means the test is more "sure" about that preference. |

The "MBTI" on mypersonalitypage is a mock. It's not the official one and it's results tend to be off.
It could be you don't have enough expression or, pardon the wording, self esteem to greatly express your functions or know who you are. Or it could just be that that test sucks and, if you're interested, you could do more independent study to figure it out. [Look up Jung.] There's nothing wrong with being near the middle. Perhaps the ideal balance is a personality that is able to shift and adapt according to need. That, however, seems entirely impossible and deceptive. Would it be impossible for someone to be authentic and yet that adaptable? Would a person who could be an ISTP one moment an shift to an ENFJ the next be nuts? |
