Clearly INTJ. It wants cookies. It will do whatever it takes to get as many cookies as possible in the most efficient way. It will disregard all social norms in the process and gets energy from being alone. (Ideally alone with its cookies.) Its a mastermind, an innovator, a villain and a virgin. It is clearly an INTJ.

But the Cookie Monster's so E, so E it burns. If we are going to go down that route, he's an ENTJ if you have no proof otherwise, but the Cookie Monster actually has emotion, he does get sad and whatnot, so I would say he's an ENFJ.

And I love how I came to a supposedly more "mature" forum and we're discussing the MBTI of a character on Sesame Street.

The Cookie Monster is definitely ExFJ, he oozes Fe. Cookies = love.

His buddy, the Count, is ISTJ.

Big Bird is the flamboyant ESFP.

Elmo would be INFP.

Snuffleupagus is an antisocial INTP.

The INTJ of the Street is Oscar the Grouch, of course.

That's funny about the grouch. Probably true. My wife used to call me the grinch - luckily I've resolved my disgruntled-ness since then.

Bert - xSTJ
Ernie - some sort of ExFP.

Funny about Oscar and probably true. My wife used to call me the Grinch but I've since resolved my disgruntled-ness.

He's only E because of the strength of his addiction - the poor guy just can't say no to a cookie... I agree about emotions, though - definitely F. Looks to me like he's a typical INFJ - his idealism is expressed in his passion - nay, fetish! - for cookies. In his desire to catch them all, he may appear to be an extrovert but appearances can be deceiving...

The key word is "supposedly."

Besides, even masterminds must take a break every now and then. All planning to take over the world and enslave ISFPs and no play make Night Runner a dull INTJ...

Definitely an E. He enjoys telling everyone about his love for cookies. He appears to be analytical about his methods to get cookies. F's pretty obvious. I'll call him an ENFJ.

I'll buy the ENFJ theories. Whatever he is, though, he seems addiction-prone.

Verily. We should get back to discussing the MBTI of fictional characters like House.

Don't Eat the Pictures: Sesame Street at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (1983) (TV)
[Cookie Monster sees a painting of fruit]
Cookie Monster: Me eat picture!
Bob: No, no, no, Cookie Monster. You can't touch the picture.
Cookie Monster: No, me don't want to touch, me want to eat.
Bob: No, you can't, nooooo!
Cookie Monster: Let me eat frame.
Bob: The sign, Cookie Monster, look at the sign.
[sees a sign that forbids eating pictures]
Cookie Monster: Please don't eat the pictures. Aw, this going to be long night.

Are you sure you INTJs want to claim as one of your own someone who can't seem to master personal pronoun usage?

Bert: ISTJ
Ernie: ENFP

Note that they are MBTI opposites...

Bert and Ernie: ExFP, I'm still in debate as to if they are N or S, but the rest can speak for itself, they are very vocal and animated characters and generally pretty laid back and P-like. And pardon me if I'm wrong, but don't they type the same, or are they different characters in personality? I haven't seen the show in forever, I can't exactly remember.

I love this topic.

My theory is that Cookie Monster is not an addict, but is instead on the verge of attaining enlightenment through asceticism. He's given up everything but cookies. As he often says, "C is for cookie. That's good enough for me."
