Well, I guess this is a forum for people with similar personalities to my own. I'm really not sure what to write, so if anyone wants to know something about me, just ask.
Oh, and I've been wondering something since I found out I was an INTJ: are there many others who not only like intellectual stuff, but who also gravitate to creative and artistic things (in my case, photography, writing, and poetry)? By the description, this seems rather unusual, so I would like to know if I'm wrong.

Welcome, Rehnberg. We are glad to have you. To answer your question: Yes, there are quite a few of us "intellectual" types that prefer the more "artistic" activities. We have a number of writers, photographers, musicians, etc. on this board alone. It is true that few of us make a career out of such pursuits, but many of use indulge in them for recreation.

That said, there are still those among us who make a living in some of the fields you listed.

Swiss or cheddar?

Have you ever killed a man?

What is your opinion on stem cell research?

Do you like snow?

Do you like pi?

by the dog

Would you use it in a surd?
Would you say it to a nerd?

Tell me, tell me if you're able:
Is there pi in your trig table?

Would you, could you, plot its line?
Could you, would you, take its sine?

Faster now, if you can go;
we will see just what you know!

Are pi's digits randomized?
Have the counts been analyzed?
Is pi algebraic, OR
is it transcendental, FOR
if your answer brings you laud....
THEN we'll know you're not a fraud.

Not that I know of.

I'm all for all forms of it. Embryos that are going to sit in a freezer indefinitely, then be flushed down the drain aren't going to become human life, so they might as well go to a useful purpose.

Seeing as I live in Minnesota, I can't really dislike it...

That's good to know. I figured there had to be some, but the description I read made it sound like most other INTJs in the world were dry pricks. As I can tell by this thread, they clearly aren't!

Yeah, were just pricks, not dry pricks.

Shit, I've been nodding for nearly two hours! Are you going to take any notice of me or what?

Oh, and welcome Rehnberg.

Hey! You will be complicit in my murder. Do you want that on your conscience? Aiding and abetting, that's 200 years in prison. In fact, that's 200 years for aiding and another 200 for abetting. You won't be laughing when you've finished that. Hah!

Hi fellow newbie!
I guess I variate between trying to be creative and intellectual - studied visual arts before but now taking a more theoretical postgrad course. With the art projects I always found the creative process very slow and painful and spent a lot of time chewing the pencil but when it went well the flow was the best thing. Would love to get back into it.

Welcome, Rehnberg!

As others have said, many INTJs follow artistic pursuits; it's a sizable minority. Music seems to be the most common.

If you're sticking around, you can check out the rules here, and a great thread about using all the neat forum features is here.

Please, enjoy!

Personally, I think that all INTJs are creative. The mode whereby we express that creativity varies widely. While many think that creativity is only visible in "the arts", I would wager that anyone that has written a program of any sorts has thought of their code as "art".

Quetion for you; what is the glide-ratio of an African swallow in a 20 knot headwind, carrying a regulation ladies bowling ball?

PS - The answer is not 42.
