I thought it was nifty, and that it might prove useful to others. When you're searching for threads that may have different variations of the word in their title (i.e., color, colored, colorful, colors, et cetera), just type in the root of the word and attach an asterisk at the end. For example, if you want to find threads that deal with the word color, all you have to do is type in color* - and it will bring up all threads with some variation of that word in the title. This may sound obvious to some of you, but this discovery saved me a lot of time.

This is pretty standard across computer based searches. It is known as a wild card.

Some other useful tips on using the Search function are discussed in the forum tips thread stickied in the Lounge (including the use of the asterisk). I use the v-Bulletin Search in the toolbar all the time to search for threads on specific topics by ticking the Search Titles Only option, or for searching posts where I've been quoted on the forum by ticking Show Posts (vanity search).

I have to ask: how did you make this discovery?
