Backtrack Linux Aircrack

Hi Is anywone here able to do aircrack on backtrack? Im not able but its because my wifi card dont support aircrack.. Is there a way to do it with a simple card?

I think for aircrack to work properly, your wireless device needs to have a Wifi radar (or at least that's what its called in my case). I'm using a 1 year old atheros device that works with aircrack on linux (on archlinux in case you're wondering).

I'm using the madwifi driver for this wireless card and not the new ath5k drivers.
