I changed a few things in the template tonight to make it easier to add more. I also added a new one for those of you who prefer a darker color scheme. It's called "Dark Template" (yeah, an uninspired name, I know). You can change it in your user profile in the "options" section. That's the same screen you change your avatar... it's toward the bottom.
There's a few things that still need to be tweaked with it. The area where the "users online" is too low contrast and I might change some other colors slightly. But for the most part it's done. If anyone tries this out, let me know if you notice any other issues. If anyone cares, I can add more color schemes. |

I typically prefer a darker template. This one is a little too dark but I do have some constructive criticism.
For the a.link instead of #9adff4 maybe #336699 would be better? It's darker and the same colour as the blue in the header. And perhaps #152a3e instead of #00000 for the backdrop? Does YaBB offer different themes? I'm not familiar with this software, but if you've ever used SMF, themes are an option (assuming they've been loaded to the server). Some examples of what I mean can be found here. p.s. perhaps bolding a.links in the comment/ text boxes so they stand out? OK, I'll shut up now :D p.p.s Avatars don't show up when using this template. |

Perhaps my eyes are bad, but I originally went with 336699 and changed it because it was hard to read.
Like I said, the colors do need to be tweaked a bit more, and I'm aware some areas don't stand out enough. But for the most part I'm leaving that color scheme as is. What I can do is add MORE template options. Find some color schemes you like, and I'll see about copying them over. Yes, it is possible to make more drastic theme changes aside from the color scheme but I'm not going to. I only want to have to edit the style sheet to make changes. Further changes require editing several template files. Maintaining this site is already time consuming enough for one person, but it might be a possibility in the future. The avatars thing is weird, is anyone else experiencing this problem? I checked it in firefox and internet explorer and they work in all the templates for me. What browser are you using, and are they working in the default template? Only the colors *should* be different between the two (not to say I couldn't have accidentally messed up the coding in one). |

The avatar was gone completely when I switched templates. I had to put it back.

It's an issue with the checkbox getting cleared when the template is changed. When the checkbox gets cleared, the avatar automatically gets deleted off the server so rechecking it won't fix the problem. Forum gallery users won't be affected. |
