"Career transition mode". Is that a euphemism for unemployed?

The Work and Education sub forum will be your new home, welcome to the forum.

I'm with Thinker. Career Transition is a way of life for me, at least until I get published.

Welcome, Thinkingtype. I plan to stay in academia my whole life, and thus neatly sidestep that career issue.

Enjoy the forum!

I've been in "career transition" far too many times, it sucks.

Welcome.

Welcome!

I'm also currently in pre-transition serious thinking mode. Not an easy decision financially. The grass always seems greener somewhere else I suppose...

Career transition mode? Aaargh! 'I am unemployed'. There you go, nice and plain. I'm in career transition mode too. Isn't it great? I love doing nothing all day. Yesterday the sun came out and it was incredibly warm. I went and mowed the lawns and cleared up stuff in the garden. It was very fulfilling. Today, I'm on here talking about it. That's quite thrilling. (I wonder if I can think of another adjective ending with 'illing'). After this, I shall go and make myself a cup of tea and do some serious chilling. (Damn, that wasn't an adjective).

Anyway, welcome. I hope you're soon too busy at your new job to have much time to come on here. Good luck.

Welcome, Thinkingtype.

Ever had that vague feeling that everyone around you was a little bit dumber, slower, less knowledgeable than yourself? You know, that sort of "what's the matter with these people, don't they realize what's really going on" feeling?

Well, it was unjustified.

But, if you stick around, we might be able to raise you up a couple of notches, and make your sad dream come true.

Welcome to the Forum.
