Masterminds create a vision for the future by gathering and organising information. They then develop strategies to achieve their goals. They have a rare gift for looking at almost anything and seeing how it can be improved. These skills and the Masterminds' high standards often allow them to reach leadership positions at work. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Masterminds value independence and prefer to work on their own. Once they have decided on a course of action, Masterminds rarely change their minds, although they can be persuaded by clear reasoning by someone they respect. In situations where they can't use their talents or are unappreciated, Masterminds may cut themselves off from a group and criticize people who don't understand their plans. Under extreme stress, Masterminds may overindulge in sensory experiences like eating, shopping or watching television. Masterminds often have an unusual sense of humour, which arises from their ability to spot surprising links between seemingly unconnected facts. Mastermind Careers Masterminds are drawn to jobs requiring logical analysis or abstract thinking common in science or technical fields. It's important to remember that no survey can predict personality type with 100 percent accuracy. Experts say that we should use personality type to better understand ourselves and others, but shouldn't feel restricted by our results. Ok, I posted the score I got at the end of last year, which was "Resolver" but I took it again just now and this time got "Realist". I relate to both but think I was more of a Resolver when I took it last because of my job then (coping in a team environment with a lot of SJs, high profile role). When sticking with freelance work (much more my style), I'd say Realist is more accurate.

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Summary of Strategists * Quiet, easy-going and intellectually curious * Use logical, objective thinking to find original solutions to problems * Think of themselves as bright, logical and individualistic * May be impractical, forgetting practical issues, such as paying bills or doing the shopping More about Strategists Strategists are quiet people who like to get to the heart of tough problems on their own and come up with innovative solutions. They analyse situations with a sceptical eye and develop ways of measuring everything, including themselves. Strategists are generally easy-going. They are intellectually curious and enjoy abstract ideas. Sometimes they like thinking of a solution to a problem more than taking practical steps to solve it. In situations where they can't use their talents, are unappreciated, or not taken seriously, Strategists may become negatively critical or sarcastic. Under extreme stress, Strategists could be prone to inappropriate, tearful or angry outbursts. Strategists may be insensitive to the emotional needs of others or how their behaviour impacts the people around them. |

Sometimes. I don't have a lot of confidence in these sorts of tests. There were many questions where I didn't have a firm standpoint and just had to pick an answer at random. Like the grocery store questions. Who cares? Sometimes I do it this way, sometimes that... Also, on questions like:
I'm different in different situations. Online, I'd say I'm #3, whereas in person, I'm more like #2 when working and #1 with family/friends but it depends on which family/friends... but that's not set in stone. I really don't have a set MO that fits all situations. fomatizer added to this post, 1 minutes and 47 seconds later... Mozzes result sounds like me too. Maybe I'm an xxxx like Mozzes. |

Ok, so looking back at all the ways I behave in the various situations, I have a headache and now get "Strategist": The hardest two questions to pin down looking at my MO holistically were: Which set of words best describes you?

I got realist when I gave up trying to make sense of the picture and stuck with my description, or it'd have been mastermind. That's an odd one. |

this test is too rigid, specifically in the partition between planners vs. spontaneous.

I got hung up on that question too. I knew it was a Dali painting and I've had more access to Dali's work from an early age than other artists because my mother was a fan. I have strong opinions about Dali's work. Looking at the questions holistically, I had to forget about the picture shown and reply based on what I usually look for (if not looking at a Dali painting). |

the test was drawn up by the BBC. recall, if you will, the British couldn't figure out what to do with Hitler, for god's sake, and lost the friggin' colonies (almost all of them, worldwide, eventually)....sometimes a test says more about the test designer than the test takers. takes real testicles to draw up a great test. let Margaret Thatcher design a new test, then we'll see....
