I've gazed at this picture quite a few times, and can honestly say it drives me wild. Up front and on topic, the hair is wonderful. The red tone is rich and dark and appears to be very soft. I bet her hair smell like cinnamon, or something equally as intoxicating.

However,

I have to loosen my collar every time by the way she is posed. I've always had a thing for necks. I'm not a

Advertisers cash in on redhead appeal
Article from: The Advertiser

CALLIE (REDHEAD) WATSON

February 19, 2009 12:30am

Advertisers are cashing in on the once unthinkable appeal of redheads.

SA Great, AAMI, Telstra and Coopers are among the big-name firms to use "ranga" – short for orangutan – models and actors in campaigns.

Mostly Kids Model Agency and Academy owner Liz Philippou said consumers were led to believe redheads depict "certain individuality, fiery temper traits, sharp tongues, determination and mischievousness".

"When an advertising campaign features a redheaded child, it sends a message of that same determination," she said.

"(It) catches the eye and holds you, pondering the possibility of the redhead being an absolute little devil, and then considering the product they're associated with."

Piper Films director Corey Piper, who produced the SA Great advertisement featuring an impish carrot-topped boy and encouraging people to buy locally, said the child was cast purely on talent.

"They were strongly debating between him and a blonde kid," he said.

"But in saying that, blondes and brunettes tend to blend into the background because usually backgrounds are either a light or a dark colour."

Advertising partner Andrew Killey said the acceptance of flame-haired and strawberry blonde Hollywood stars, such as Nicole Kidman and Julieanne Moore, had prompted the advertising industry to follow suit.

"It's now seen as beautiful and glamorous," he said.

In September, Adelaide Zoo dropped a campaign offering free entry to carrot-tops to highlight the plight of orangutans after a negative response.

Early on in this thread certain nameless INTJs got all flaming over hair dye. I personally do not care, I actually think it is a compliment that people want red hair...

Welcome aboard the RAS Love Train!

Once unthinkable appeal? I am stuck between sadness and anger.... I am immediately attracted to redheads.

That's Lily Cole. She was born in May 1988. She DOES have that child bone-structure. I find it creepy but think she has beautiful skin, hair, and a rocking bod. Face creeps me.

Don't mind me, I'm here on a day pass.

*shows temporary pass*

So, is there a gift shop anywhere? Maybe a "have your picture taken with Lucille Ball" display?

I did not know that! So if I'm wandering around in a forest and I see a red head with backwards feet I should probably not pick that moment to chop down or smite a small forest creature eh?
