Hi,
I am searching for getting a vision of the tendencies in economics and politics in the next fifty years. Of course I cannot take this vision out of my stomach, so a little input and thoughts from others would be nice.
I would say with a certain understanding of business, finance and politics, that, after the finance disaster and the ongoing recession, the national state will be getting stronger and capitalism in its rather uncontrolled form will be more dominated by (inter)national rules to limit the overall risk of having such bad times again.
What the rules are going to be is uncertain at the moment AFAIK, but there will be rules that a bank or a business can't do all sorts of risky shit

Another thing is that the U.S. owe China quite a lot money and therefore there is a certain imbalance of power regarding this.
Anyhow.
I would like to see a discussion how these impacts will influence the world in say fifty years.
Will states be far more controlling than nowadays as other things may get out of control as well? Or is the freedom and peace coming with Obama who might be in charge perhaps for the next eight years?

What makes you pose a question associating Obama and freedom in a positive manner?

Well, it was my rough impression.
Thats what this vision is all about in my eyes. An alternative to the state that is more controlling in certain areas, would be more freedom in other areas. Perhaps there will be a tendency of different new policies dealing with the worlds current problems.
