1) Pain and other medications worked: I slept, no pain, off and on, for at least eight hours.

2) My husband doled out meds, fed me, held my hand, and said--to my tearful statement that I don't carry my own weight, "You are not a burden, goof-ball; I love you."

3) I got together everything needed to wrap up Square Foot Gardening book I had bought for a neighbor and then handed it over to her roommate--if I had waited until I felt or looked 'well enough', she wouldn't have benefited from any advice the book contains about gardening in small places (she has an herb garden with some squash, one tomato plant in it, and it's, oh, six by five feet.
