Been lookin' at these guys. Any opinions, comments or reviews about the company, quality or their pricing? Are there a lot of better places to go look? I've definitely paid for my last Alienware.

I bought two identical computers from them a couple years ago for my brother and myself. They used quality parts and the price was very reasonable compared to Alienware. I'd recommend them.

I'd recommend them, as well. I just bought my latest computer from them. I went with one of their pre-mades, and then did some upgrades here and there to customize, and actually got the full computer pre-built cheaper than had I bought all the components from Newegg and built it. They routinely offer free upgrades on certain items, so definitely take advantage of those as you go through the customization process.

I did everything online from start to finish and have absolutely zero complaints about the machine. Just know that they will give you an "estimated ship date". It is just that, estimated. And if something happens on their end and they aren't going to make that ship date, they do NOT call you to tell you. That was my only complaint with them - their lack of updating the estimated ship date as their "builders" got behind.

What these guys said.

Also, when I bought my desktop from them about a year ago, I was surprised that it wasn't loaded down with a ton of worthless software. It just had windows and internet explorer.

Yes, I got Windows 7 and IE pre-loaded, and I also sprung for the free Microsoft duo-pack with Word & Excel.

Well, I still appreciate it. I'll update with my experience once all is done. I had a hard time with Alienware, so I'm pretty tough to scare.

My friend have two desktops from them, and only had a nic card went out, other than that they were good, but I am not sure about their laptops.

I did a lot of research on them when I almost bought a new computer in March of this year. They are currently the value/$ leader in the industry by a considerable margin.

They have a good reputation for offering really decent prices for quality laptops.

Some of them are good, some of them might have a little sketchy build quality, so check that everything is good with them. They generally use top notch components. I had one come across my tech bench due to overheating. All of the case fans (with the exception of the fan in the PSU, and including the fans for the liquid cooling heat exchanger radiator), were pointed inward, resulting in the case being pressurized a few millibar above ambient. This isn't conducive to good cooling, so I switched them to the position they should have been, and all of the cooling issues disappeared.

Just something to look for.

You mean no one even put their hand in the exhaust path to check ?

Regardless, Quality Control is lacking at most price points of most products, nowadays.

First update. So far, unfortunately, there has been a "server outage" since Tuesday the 4th and all orders are put on hold

. Curious.

Make careful note of the dates and times listed below. Also note I chose the slowest option available for component assembly and delivery. "5-10 business days before ship".

I build my own rigs these days but I did recommend these guys to a friend of mine who was looking to get a machine that would play newer games at a reasonable price. He has had nothing but good things to say about them so far, even passed word of them onto another of his friends. I think for the price point they are tough to beat.
