IRC just crash?

IRC has been seeing higher user counts whenever I've been on, usually ~18:00-22:00 US Central on weekdays.

But this "crash" was on a Saturday. I didn't take note of how many were logged in, and a couple people told me they were logged in throughout the "crash".

So maybe some users were dropped and the server just stopped accepting connections...?

Makes me wish I hadn't been so preoccupied with my Flash games at the time.

I don't know what IRC is, but if it crashes and comes back in a few hours I wouldn't worry (unlike airplanes).

The crash wasn't the result of user load on our end. The IRC host was DDoS'd. Everything should be back up and running now.
