Within this context the types are the MBTI types:
INTJ, INTP, ENTJ, ENTP, ISTJ, ISTP, ESTJ, ESTP, INFJ, INFP, ENFJ, ENFP, ISFJ, ISFP, ESFJ, ESFP. Within this context love can mean something along the lines of
What is the type? What experiences have you had with the type to prompt you to decide that they seem to be in the most need of some love? Can you provide any further explanation, if any is required? Perhaps you feel sorry for them or have noticed their struggles, or have been informed of them and are genuinely convinced. For whatever reason, you are relatively free to discuss it. |

Anyone who is an "F" seems to fall in this category; however, as an INTJ I would like to be loved, but is not necessary for my existence.

If I focus on the category of types most likely to feel like something crucial is missing from their lives if there aren't people who love them, I'd say F is the biggest contributor by a pretty big margin, followed by E. So I'd pick EFs as the types most likely to be unhappy if they don't feel loved/appreciated by others.
As between ENFs and ESFs, I have a sense that, on average, the N's are likely to cope at least a little better with a lack of love in their lives. So I'd pick ESFJs and ESFPs as the most needy in the love department. And, among the F's, I'd pick INFJs and INFPs as the most likely to be OK without it. |

All humans need love. Any that say they don't are probably sociopathic or have some sort of attachment disorder. That being said, I think the S/F's and F/J's are probably the type that require external emotional affirmation...
BUT.....in my pretty vast experience with different types, I'd observe that the I/T's seem to actually need it the most, they are just more able to cope without it. But they blossom under positive emotion, just don't make a point of pointing it out to them because then they get all "Think-y" and defensive about it. I mostly say this because everyone goes through troubles in life and the I/T's (and I/F's) are far more likely to endure them alone, I've yet to meet a human who doesn't appreciate a good sympathetic ear during times of need, the EF's of the world make a point to reach out to others during rough times which is immensely helpful. And yes, even you think-y types need love and understanding. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |

Are you saying you think it's a silly question because everybody has the same need for love? |

Define "need": are we talking about who requires it most to function (which then would be the E's) or who needs it more because they're less likely to be offered it (which would then be I's)?

One of the reasons I found the question funny was the part about someone needing love. I see this as somewhat of a cliche. I immediately picture a "romantic" man in a movie saying "I need your love. I'll die without it. Please don't leave me." She leaves and he tragically kills himself after a long soliloquy.....The audience is brought to tears by this horrible tragedy. They then get in their cars and blast "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles. |
