I do have bad AIGGGHH!! because I won't get my fix for a while. I need another casual reading series now.

I wasn't really hurt with any of the deaths in the 5th...meh....

I heard GRRM is suffering from Robert Jordan syndrome, if you're familiar with the term...I didn't even buy the fifth one after reading the reviews. I had to force myself through A Feast for Crows. Brielle of Tarth, seriously?

Agreed with Bardas. Feast for Crows was horrible and the worst of the series. I barely made it through.

Getting to the last chapters of A Dance with Dragons and I thought "They haven't killed anyone yet..." and AIIIGGHHHHHHH!!!!

Here's hoping he didn't really... you know...

[HIDE="spoiler"]Who knows? Jon's been doing that shape... shifter? changer? thing with Ghost, and there was a character that inhabited an animal after his physical death... maybe Jon joins Ghost?[/HIDE]

IMHO, Dance didn't have cliffhangers as good as the previous four books. Small downside for me there.

[HIDE="Spoiler"]Oh yeah that. It never even really says he died. I dont think he did. I'd be really surprised.

Also we'd never get to find out if Jon is the child of Eddard Stark's little sister and Dany's brother. Thats been the speculation for a long time.[/HIDE]

I don't mind Robert Jordan syndrome that much... I absolutely loathe the closure of a long series, despite literary flaws and the like. It probably has something to do with my repressed life-in-medieval-ages-fantasies.

Though I do wish that GRRM would quit killing characters left and right while introducing new ones at the same time. Rather bothersome to go through the whole process of getting emotionally involved with them again.

[HIDE="spoilers"]Yes. That's one of two things that keep bothering me, and I thought five books would suffice to solve: Jon's parentage, and where in the world is Benjen Stark. My money's in his being Coldhands, though.[/hide]

Funny, my husband thinks Jon might be Lyanna and Robert's kid, but I really can't tell him why that's less probable than the other without spoiling the story for him (he's just watching the series)...

[HIDE="spoilers"]Oh, and I just remembered. There's a mention of Ned staying in some island and getting some fisherwoman pregnant, and she named the kid Jon for Jon Arryn... isn't there?[/HIDE]

Just saw Season 2's finale. The ending looked much like a George Romero film.

I'm starting a two person transatlantic book club to keep me & my friend occupied during the hiatus.

This is basically my new Lost. They just give away enough to keep you hooked!

I can sympathize, but the truth is any series that is artificially drawn out is bound to suffer in quality. No writer is that good. Tolkien, for a short time, intended to write a sequel to the Lord of the Rings. Luckily he had the sense to abandon that idea as being unrealistic. Disaster avoided.

Except for the sex. That's the one thing they don't leave to the imagination.

Saw a couple of episodes of Lost years ago, never really hooked me, but by the way I've heard people talk about it, apparently it got better later...

I remember my friends trying to force me to read the books five years or so ago, and me finding them boring. Having watched the series - I still feel like there's not much character development or anything very complicated going on beyond that fact that people seem to die in sudden and unexpected ways.

Still, there are enough separate groups to keep it from being boring.

... and that first incestuous sex scene definitely needed to be better

When I heard about GOT I wasn't sure how many episodes there were? If I knew it was 10 episodes I would of watched it a long time ago because 10-20 episodes for me to watch is nothing, although it's close to a full 60 minutes per episode. Most shows doesn't, at most 42 minutes the minimum. In the past,I've could easily watch more than 40 episodes per show or different seasons by other country or US region. There is plenty of other tv shows or movies to watch during the hiatus.

I would say when the Tutors first aired it was a hit and when the female actress who played as Mcbeth in Tutors also appeared on this show what a surprise. There is so many GOT cliffhangers at the end of every episode you do want to stay tuned. Also true, for every brand new show its a big question of success or failure? So maybe the producer made the best judgement call by filming both seasons and split it up to be bought by the sindicated networks. This way there is no risk,if they like it then why just buy the dvd's for the 2nd season?

But I can't wait to see 3rd season of GOT,as well other shows.

I just watched S2E8. Can someone tell me what the agreement was between the Imp and his right hand?

I'm not sure what you mean, but Bronn is a sellsword; he's loyal to Tyrion as long as he reaps some benefit from it, but they can't help becoming sort-of-friends since their tempers are somewhat compatible.

Yes I'm confused as to what exactly your asking about.

The sell sword ended up fighting on Tyrion's behalf in the first season/book when no one else would because he knew he'd make money off it. Their "agreement" is pretty much, "you do my shit and I pay you lots of money". Thats the way it usually is with sell swords.
