For the purposes of your poll, I selected Cohiba.
That said, Tatuaje is one of my favorite brands. The Classic, La Riqueza, and Havana VI lines all have some great smokes. My dad came through town this past weekend, and I bought him a Tainos and myself a Cojonu 2006. I also had a Reserva SW on Friday evening. All three are from the Classic line. I’ve been meaning to try Obsidian. Any recommendations? |

Well, if you like obsidian I'm pretty sure you like a nice maduro wrap. In that case, I would recommend a 5 vegas gold maduro or a Gurkha Widow Maker Maduro Churchill. They are both nice and robust but the 5 Vegas Gold Maduro is a bit stronger and is a nice one to burn while sitting in the yard relaxing at the end of the day.
Also, if you like infused cigars then you may want to give Acids a try. They come infused with a variety of different flavors in the tobacco. |

Tonight I had a Padron 6000. Great cigar. A mainstay for the past two (three?) summers now.
My local cigar shop didn't have Obsidian (wtf?), and I haven't ordered anything online recently. So I haven't tried this one yet.
I've heard all the hype around Acid. So I recently tried the Kuba Kuba and the 1400cc. Both were decent, if different, but I especially enjoyed the 1400cc and have had about four (the first on your recommendation). Nice cigar. It reminds me of a clove cigarette. A clove cigar. But good (and different), I have to admit. Thanks for the recommendation. |

"Most often", it's Henry Wintermans Half Corona's (but "often" to me is like, less than 1 cigar every couple of months). They're the largest you can get from a newsagents / corner-shop, and are relatively cheap.
I bought a mini sampler pack at Xmas, and from that my favourite were Cohiba, followed by Romeo Y Julietta. The Montecristo were fine too, but I wasn't so keen on the Partagas (they tasted a bit industrial / chemically). I don't like the size of the mini's though. You can't get a good draw from them. Also just after Xmas, I was given a To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. It took me 3 separate attempts to finish it. The size I find ideal is that half-Corona I mentioned. |

I voted Rocky Patel because they are my favorites. In the US, the only Cohibas we can get are the red dot Cohibas (red dot in the label as opposed to the yellow label of true Cohibas). I like them OK and smoke them often because I like the flavor, the draw, and the size (of the coronas), but they don't compare to some of the pure Dominicans.

I love going abroad and smoking as many cubanos as I can find/afford. Customs agents are totally on the ball and it's tough to smuggle a nice little supply back. So don't try it.

Probably sounds a bit odd, but its usually either a pint of a good lager (like Cobra or Peroni or something), or a large herbal tea (valerian or peppermint, or some weird blend). |

No problem. A few other favorites would be the Gurkha Centurian and the Montecristo Media Noche. The Media noche has a nice but naturally sweet taste to it and is pleasant from start to finish. The Gurkha Centurian has a wonderful aroma and is a very, very smooth smoke. Also I just tried the Alec Bradley Tempus. It's a 93 rated cigar that I thoroughly enjoyed. You may want to try these as well.
The Rocky Patel line is indeed pretty nice. I like the Decade and the Vintage 1992. Both are pretty good smokes.
I don't typically drink while I smoke. I usually prefer a nice Ribeye steak before I smoke. With the right cigar it's like taking another bite. |

I don't really understand cigar smoking. You aren't supposed to inhale, so why not just chew on some gum to get a nice taste in your mouth? And why would you prefer a cigar as big as a babies arm? Don't you get bored after smoking 1/10 of it?
I dunno, I really like the taste of them, but I always want to smoke them over my lungs, but that's so hard/sharp and really really bad for your lungs supposedly. Maybe I'd like it if I had a cigar in one hand and a cigarette in my other hand. Same with waterpipes without weed or tobacco but just that stuff that tastes like apples. |

@Zodd: Cigar smoking for me is mostly social or relaxation. A good cigar out on the back porch is one of my favorite ways to get back into my own head after work. It takes me about an hour or so to enjoy one, and I don't get bored at all.
@Everyone: My collection is mostly Montecristos because that's what I started with. Mostly #5 Toros, a couple of Churchills, and a few White Label Toros |

This. Also, there are more than the standard sized cigars. There are also cigarillos which are about the size of cigarettes. The thing I like about cigars personally is that I don't have to take them over my lungs to get the benefit of the tobacco. I know this is weird for cigarette smokers, but it's just my preference.
Montecristos are some damned good smokes. I haven't seen a bad smoke yet by them. What's is the best Montecristo that you have smoked? |

Uhmmm....yeah? What is so relaxing about it? It's just a taste, right? Can't they make cigars into chewing gum form? I dunno. I like the taste of food and the taste of cigarettes, but just the taste of a cigarette alone really doesn't do it for me, or just the taste of a cigar. Really want to try one now. I also can't smoke waterpipes without smoking cigarettes inbetween hits, because it's such a tease. Maybe you only like cigars if you tried it before normal tobacco smoking? It's like a massage without getting your dick wet. Or beer without alcohol. The beer itself and the massage are only good with alcohol and sex, if you really like beer before trying beer without alcohol.

Anything made by Arturo Fuente.
I recently got to have a To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. , normally only sold in full humidor boxes. A friend has a cigar shop, and a local doctor paid him to break open a humidor. I managed to buy a couple of the "orphaned" stragglers left behind after he sold the box and half the cigars. Best cigar I've ever had. Hands down. |

I do like a good Cohiba but CAO seems to make the ones I like most frequently.
---------- Post added 09-13-2012 at 10:49 PM ----------
You do it because you enjoy the combination of SMOKE (yes, I like smoke, lots and lots of it. It looks and feels awesome), the flavor and especially the SMELL of the tobacco, and the AMAZING HIGH that you get when you've smoked the entire thing. It's much better than a wimply tasteless cigarette buzz. You can talk to people, read, drive, sit on your laptop, whatever while you're smoking it so no it's not boring. |

I remember you posted a pic of you smoking a cigar and painting your toenails, I liked that pic, much better than those artsy pics.
Smoke isn't such a big thing for me maybe since I am smoking half of the time when I'm awake. Yeah I really really like the smell also, but also of weed, but not so much. I guess I also don't have the patience, I need my nicotine fix every 15 minutes, even more often when I'm drunk, and that's when I mostly smoked those small cigars. Not even talking about such a big cigar. Even if I didn't need a nicotine fix then I'd just get bored with it probably. Bored with the cigar, not bored with what I'm doing while smoking the cigar. Really don't feel like I'd enjoy the smell and taste of a cigar longer than 15 minutes max. |

I burned a nice Montecristo recently. It's the Reserva Negra. It smells pretty spicy but has a nice chocolatey taste to it and it is as smooth as silk. It definitely worth a smoke.
