Interpretive sandwich: Sliced turkey heated up with pepper on top, and a pile of leaves and chopped up apples with oil and vinegar in lieu of bread. Huge-ass chocolate-dipped strawberry and a menthol for dessert.

I pan-grilled cheeseburgers prepared in an overnight marinade of garlic powder, black pepper and worcestershire sauce. And potato salad made with red potatoes and sweet Vidalia onions.

Grilled hamburgers and hotdogs tonight. I will probably grill some onions to go on them, too.

Checked out a newer Italian restaurant in the area. Grilled asparagus wrapped in prosciutto app, arugula beet and goat cheese salad, free-range chicken saltimbocca (shared with friend of similar tastes). Overall, decent. Saw friends from another restaurant that moved over there, and are doing well. Good bar dining scene.. decent wine list, Peroni on tap (wasn't impressed), liquor alternatives, dark wood, quiet vibe and flat screen too.

Carnitas Super Burrito from favorite local taco joint. It was huge. Took more than half home.

Trying a new French place tonight.

Last night:
Straight bourbon + cacahouetes piquantes + merguez et rouille
Filet mignon + lobster claw + cab sauv
Assiette de fromages
Baba au rhum + black decaf coffee

Sounds like a lot, but the portions were perfectly sized and the pace was relaxed, in the traditional French way. Will definitely return.

Early dinner tonight. Threw together a makeshift chicken cacciatore that turned out "just okay".
