I'm sorry to interrupt you but are you women really sure of what you are actually talking? It might be that your bodies tell a different story than your mouth (or keyboard)...

If you have a question about it, I'm happy to answer.

I was actually just being cheeky in the hope of some titillating lesbian erotica!

But as you are open to discussion, I am curious about many things.
Do you consider yourself a lesbian or bisexual?
Were you consciously just experimenting or were you specifically seeking a relationship with a woman?
Would you say there was an element of peer pressure involved or perhaps rebellion?
Was your attraction to women a shock to you or did you accept and adjust to it without qualm?
Was the attraction more physical or emotional?
Was the sex more or less fulfilling either physically or emotionally?
Are there more or less physical or emotional insecurities to deal with?
How did friends and family treat you if they found out?

What I'm most intrigued by is how the social rituals work. Seeing as men are usually the pursuers and women are the pursued, who chases who when both parties have been raised in society as being the passive receivers of interest and not the ones to make the first move?

Probably not the question the guys are thinking of, but why sexually and not romantically? I'm attracted to women but never wanted to go through with getting too physical.

I don't know. I've asked myself the same question. The physical aspect is easier for me than the romantic/emotional side.

My point in why women at bars seem to place this display for attention on 'most' occurrences.

Maybe bisexual? I'm not too sure. I never understood the decision to narrow a choice to only one sex.

Sometimes consciously experimenting with both sexes. I have never specifically looked for a relationship with a woman. I have not had a relationship with a woman in the traditional sense.

Neither

No, never a shock, acceptance or adjustment. If someone asked me why I was interested in a woman, my response would be, 'Why not?'

Physically, it was more fulfilling. Sometimes, neither.

Maybe more emotional since there were a couple instances where the other party was attached to me and it was not reciprocated.

Friends that ask generally just want to gain information, such as yourself for example. Other friends have made unintelligible remarks about it in social settings trying to make a joke and it's funny how those same ones thought I would automatically be attracted to them but I wasn't. I have not been sexually intimate with any of my long standing female friends.

I wouldn't say I've ever chased anyone but rather the events unfolded in what seemed like a natural manner.

Sweet! You should start a thread discussing your experiences in minute, exquisite detail.

Women are naturally the most aesthetic and elegant so obviously both sexes will admire their physical qualities, but that doesn't necessarily mean there is any sexual attraction. The same way people think babies and kittens are cute.

However there does seem to be a rapidly growing bi-curiousness among women, which I put down to the fact that its taboo nature is significantly lower than male homosexuality, not to mention how its almost universally encouraged by men and even the media who have virtually normalized the phenomenon.

There is also far greater opportunity for female friends to eventually 'go a step further' as women are much more tactile with each other and openly talk about how attractive other women are. These things are usually avoided by men.

Found this article to be interesting. If I saw a naked guy (one that I find to be attractive), I would be sexually aroused, but not as much as a naked woman. I don't identify myself as a bisexual or a lesbian. I think the female body is more, in general, sexually appealing than the male.

This question is directed at women: Are you sexually aroused by other women who you think are attractive?

Going back to the OP, I'm interested in your answer.

Most straight girls I've seen asked the question say they find the female body more attractive than the mans, though they wouldn't sex/love a girl like that. As someone who isn't aroused by either.. I agree chicks look better.

Straight here who doesn't find a woman's body more attractive than a man's. Something about the strength, hard edges, rough skin of a man's body is beyond appealing.

Never really felt a need to question my sexuality. It is. I'm also not threatened or bothered in any way if a bisexual or lesbian woman hits on me.

I find men and women equally aesthetically appealing.

I'm not really aroused by looks/bodies, so not sure how to answer the question. I don't get aroused just looking at my boyfriend, I have to touch him. I'm not too interested in touching women so I don't know if it would work the same way.

just goes to support what ive said for years.

men and women get aroused by the same things...

but for men, when we become aroused it takes precedence over everything else... we temporarily de-evolve a bit when turned on, our inner caveman or whatever you want to call it.

women, they possess an ability to separate sexual and emotional feelings that men do not (whether they chose to exercise that ability or not is a different discussion).

Yes, many times, and I'm sexually and romantically involved with women (not more than one at the same time, though. That'd be too demanding. :P)

Very familiar with work done in this area. The conclusion drawn was later disputed.

The Times article is from 2008. The important point is that the studies use measures of vaginal lubrication in response to stimuli. Follow up studies done after 2008 showed that women became physiologically aroused (ie. wet) from virtually anything with a sexual connotation (even animal sex), including depictions of violent rape... even if they reported absolutely no psychological arousal or flat-out disgust. So, the more recent interpretation of this work suggests that it's more likely that the vagina self-lubricates in any situation related to sex to protect against damage if rape occurs. It's a physiological defense, not an indication of psychological sexual arousal. It's not likely that it indicates fluidity of orientation.

What is interesting is that this demonstrates that women have a more complex relationship between psychological arousal and physiological arousal than men (whose psychological/physiological arousal is very close to 1:1).
