Satellite with a DVR renders an eclectic list prepared by the button pusher in the house. By far our favorite thing to watch is Japanese game shows. Love them!
We watch more in the winter when the days are short and well below freezing. In the summer it's still light outside at 9:30pm and the work is never done, so not much TV those days. Although, one might hear a shout of "Kinniku Banzuke!" from the barn. |

I watch TV mostly as background noise while I'm studying. There are a couple of series that I actually follow, but I don't have cable, so when I do watch any tv shows, I watch them online.

I have not owned a TV in about 3 years. I listen to AM radio a good bit, read, or compose music, but I do watch a bit of TV on Hulu and Netflix.

I will occasionally watch a Science Channel show if I'm very bored or sick in bed.
Two shows I actually watch are House and Dexter, and even those two I watch online. |

I watch Laker games.
I don't watch otherwise. I haven't ever seen any of the shows mentioned in this thread. I know of them and which shows are highly rated and which demos are good for which shows (my job). |

I like movies. Sitcom's and regular broadcasts I can't do cause of the ads. My attention span is somewhat limited.

My television lost it's ability to watch tv (My ps2 still works
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. ) a year ago, never felt like fixing it. I like it more like this, tv can play with your mind; commercials, dr. phill, idols, celebrities, bias, planecrashes, mexican flu, big brother, stupid discussions, mtv, blaaah. I also don't read much newspapers, so I don't now what is actual. They could shoot the president of my country but I wouldn't know unless I would open a thread on a forum or something, I also don't chatter with people about that kind of stuff. There is ofcourse alot of great stuff on tv, but if it's so great mostly you can download it later on the internet. Digital tv would be more interesting for me; food channel, sports channel, history channel, videogamechannel, music channel, etc. |

I used to have FTA satellite (ie:I stole the service), but when it got shut down last year, I never bothered getting cable. Back when I had every channel; I didn't go out of my way to watch anything. I could get FTA again, but just don't care enough to bother.
I watch stuff online, but only a few shows. Even then I don't go out of my way. That's the beauty of the net... all on-demand, all the time... |

Most of what's on TV I would never want to watch, but there are a few channels I like.
-Occasional good shows: Discovery channel, National Geog., Disc. Civilization, Knowledge network -Good entertainment: Jon Stewart, South Park, Family Guy -News: BBC World e.g., the best show on TV right now is "Life" on Discovery channel. I love it. |

I tend to watch quite a bit of TV and also having it running in the background when I'm doing other stuff.
Mainly I like to keep an eye on the news and weather and the rest of my viewing is comedies (really enjoying reruns of Frasier, Malcolm in the Middle, Seinfeld) or documentaries and lifestyle programs. If I have a good book to read, however, that will certainly take precedence To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |

I was raised by television, but now I don't watch it much. I own all of my favorite shows on DVD and I can find all of my sports and news in the paper. If someone tells me about a show they think I should watch, I check it out online and look into buying it later on. It keeps things simple. The only new show I liked this year was "Community," actually. I'm at my aunt's house right now and we have "Dirty Jobs" on right now as background noise.
I love Mike Rowe. I hope to find a man just like him. |

I noticed that the last post was about a month ago, however, I'm new to the forum
and this thread got my attention and I would like to respond. I seldom watch TV. When I do it is to catch up on the news or watch something that interests me on the History channel. IMO one of the worst shows on TV (perhaps the worst) has got to be "Jerry Springer." You run the risk of destroying brain cells watching that show. |

I watch shows via the internets or DVD so I can pause and freeze frame. It's more like research for me since I work in film, but there are shows that are just pure entertainment that make me both angry and laughing like American Idol or America's Best Dance Crew. I stopped watching TV for probably a decade and here's what I've been watching:
I've seen all the episodes of and love: Breaking Bad Dexter Wonderfalls 30 Rock Community Modern Family Glee LOST It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia The League Arrested Development Curb Your Enthusiasm Dollhouse Firefly Spaced The IT Crowd The Soup Trueblood Star Trek: TNG 3rd Rock from the Sun I also enjoy some ridiculous VH1 reality TV and So You Think You Can Dance I'm currently watching: Sons of Anarchy Sanctuary Red Dwarf Family Guy and I'm also working on Californication, Weeds and Mad Men even though I don't even like those shows. Shows I will get to eventually: Supernatural Fringe Burn Notice Lie to Me The Wire

I used to watch a fair amount on the BBC which is available by cable where I live. It got to the point about ten years ago that watching became limited to news programs. The last five years can't even tolerate those. It's much more efficient to read the news on the internet and watch the occasional video clip. So no, no television at all.

I found this thread wondering about INTJ TV habits also. I'm not too surprised by the answers.
No television for me, however I like movies when I can stay awake through them. I have a couple of good series on dvd box set. A little scrubs before bed is relaxing, and quick. That started with marketing classes in college - I was insulted watching it after hearing how to manipulate people through the media all day. Now, I just don't have the interest and get too bored with it. |
