They say that opposites attract, and to a certain degree that may be true. However, being a "nice guy" doesn't necessarily mean that I'm going to start dating philandering crack-whores.

With that said, I would be interested in meeting my fruity MBTI twin. In other words, I would find it quite intriguing to meet an INFJ chick who's into psychic readings, astrology, the whole gypsy lifestyle. As long as she's open-minded and willing to put up with all of my logical debunkings of her fruity beliefs (and of course, I would be open to her debunking my own logical beliefs and rational approach), then I think it would be fun and we would learn a lot from each other.

What do you think? Would you date your MBTI twin opposite?

I don't think I could wake up every day to someone who follows astrology, gets psychic readings, etc, and not be disappointed in them or wanting to be away from it. Sad but true.

Any self-respecting astrology nut knows that Capricorns are prone to skepticism, though, so they ought to know better in the first place.

Oh, I definitely prefer people who are majorly different from me in some departments. Sure, he can be into psychic stuff, if he gets off on vacuuming (my most loathed chore).

Yeah I've also kind of been a bit surprised about the INFJ type descriptions where they make INFJs out to be really mystical oriented and kind of floaty head in the clouds blind believers. While most of the ones I have met do need to stop every once and a while to kind of examine their feelings and if they are logical etc. on the whole they I have found the ones I have met to be probably the most lT oriented of all the NF types.

I am definitely a "fruity" INFJ although a few NT's have told me I am very logical. I can be, but it is not my greatest strength nor is it very natural for me.

If I wasn't happily married to an INTJ I could see myself falling for an open-minded yet logical INFJ. INFJ men are some of the kindest most compassionate people I have come across. I just don't think I could handle someone very similar to me. I think it would be too suffocating if they were. Plus if their Fe is strong I think two NF's may not get anything accomplished because they would never leave the bedroom. Whatever the type they would need to be in touch with their feelings as well as others. As long as their emotional intelligence was high and there was slight variety I am sure it would work out.

*cringe* ENFJ fatal attraction flashback. that really strikes a nerve and twists. ugh!

no, i don't think i could ever really connect with a gal who's too opposite of me. even withing INTJs, i just don't get most of the rest of you with your dark goth music and always talking about polishing your gun (it's probably small & shoots blanks anyways. LOL)

i don't agree with the "never leave the bedroom" thing either. i don't have that much of a sex drive anymore. i'd rather have drama free companionship and someone to snuggle with watching NOVA or a sunset.

my IDEAL relationship would bore the crap out of most people who's lowest ennegram is enthusiast at a paltry 2.3. i just don't need excitement much. the plutonic relationship i had with the roomy that was always trying to get me to spank her and drip hot wax on her was the best ever actually. she dated heavy metal scumbags to get her fix of pain because i refused to go there, but otherwise, we got along just fine, never had space issues, and only talked when we had something to say. more mental stimulation would have been nice, but the lack of drama is most important.

a gal similar enough to me and i wouldn't live in the bedroom, we'd be more couch potatos.

Really, how hard can vacuuming be? You just turn the machine on and push it around.

Now when it comes to cleaning bathrooms...

Just to be clear, I'm not saying that all INFJs are unstable unicorn-fucking nut-jobs, nor am I saying that she "must love astrology" or else. What I am saying (or trying to) is that there may be intriguing people with interesting, fascinating ways of thinking within our own type.

Yeah, baby...

LOL well I should clarify because when I said bedroom I did not have the idea of it being 100% sexual all the time. I prefer being a bed potato vs couch. Probably because there is more space as opposed to the couch. But I definitely think the touchy-feely would be pretty strong between two NF's that have strong Fe. Could be a bit overwhelming after a while if they both are strong Fe users. That is why I think a very well developed Fi has been a nice balance for me personally

^Yes, if you're wondering, an INFJ.

24735 does it have any significance?

I usually do this as a self check as to whether I am following my morals. I think it is a great thing for everybody to think about. Though I usually just use my identical self not one of the opposite gender living in the opposite culture.

But my I think that the main problem with the other person and me would be how stuborn Each of us would be to sticking with our beliefs. Unless they were the similar thing from opposite sides.

thanks for telling it like it is about INFJs that are irrational mo. it carries a lot more weight coming from another INFJ. i didn't want to put you on the spot quoting you directly in another thread for mentioning INFJ immaturity in their forum and how you feel more at home here amongst us robots.

INTJs like keeping it real.

now let's talk about how nuts INTJs are! i'll start...
i'm likely to be your best friend or your worst enemy with ONLY indifference in between. no subtlety, absolutely no patience for BS, a smug sense of superiority, no respect at all for the social order, ummmm... tend to get whiney... am i forgetting anything? oh i'm sure i am. how else am i annoying?

That's good. You sound like you wouldn't meet their standards.

My sister tends to like investigating the "fruity things", and then shows me scientific papers in professional scientific journals like PubMed, that show they have a scientific basis. These things are not mutually exclusive.

I also have interests in both more scientific subjects, and "New Age" subjects. I find there are often a lot of parallels between the two.

My "twin opposite", would be someone who is great at practical things, but not so hot of maths, or science. As long as the person is open to discussing both types of things, and is thus open-minded, I would happily date such a person in a heartbeat.

I'm not sure what that would look like. I may be doing it now since I'm with my "twin" and there are definite differences. I'm more practical and he's more creative. I tend to turn my NiTe loose on things I think have a practical benefit, and he seems to just go for whatever is interesting to him at the time.

It made me wonder if he might not be a P type, but the complete lack of dissonance makes me doubt that. He is practical/efficient when he sees a need for it, but had a different upbringing/life so he doesn't feel the need at all times like I do.

I find that most people I meet have quite a few personality traits that are opposite to mine, so finding somebody that is completely my opposite would probably be going to far.

I'm very happy go lucky, positive, and while flamboyant I'm not dramatic. Thinking about what the opposite ENFP is... definitely not.

Very glad you clarified that. Yes, there are many interesting, intelligent, and logical INFJ's but I highly doubt you would be able to recognize them with that mindset of yours.

You and ZeroEmission seem to be on the same wavelength, perhaps he is the perfect match or the twin soul that you're searching for.
