Thinking about how my life has been so far. I only really do it at night when I'm about to sleep.

Nothing. Last cried almost 25 years ago at the death of my father. I didn't understand what was happening to me then. I was looking around to see where the noise was coming from. Shocked to find it was me.

I don't always cry, but when I do...

it usually happens:

-When I have really good intentions about something and am consequently treated like shit
-When I really start to dwell on certain aspects of my past, where I'm realistically headed in life, etc., particularly at night or while trying to sleep
-When watching or listening to certain films or songs on rare occasions, usually when I feel unusually emotional

I don't cry very often at all really (well, for a guy, maybe I do), but I am easily susceptible to prolonged sadness.

Over things long past, sometimes to the point where they are not even remotely relevant in the present. But its a very efficient way to process emotion.

Is it really healthy? Whenever I do that I'm like "why am I analyzing this again? this can't be right?" Is that an INTJ trait?

Something else people don't understand

When I'm overwhelmed, I cry. When I feel like I'm losing control over something in my life, I get very upset and frustrated, I cry.

Another thing I've realized is that when I'm really REALLY angry, I'll start to cry.

When I'm feeling something but I can't figure it out what it is or why I'm feeling that emotion, I cry.

When the person I love gets hurt, or unintentionally sets themselves up for failure.

I have trouble moving on from my mistakes and lows. I will often think about times when I have been in especially bad shape, and just wonder, "Why?" "What if?" I tend to beat myself up, because I was irrational and stupid at the time, but I do try not to. Because that doesn't get me anywhere.

I didn't cry much in my 20's. I would say there were possibly periods of a year or more without crying. As I've gotten older, I am a much happier person in general and find I cry a lot more. Hearing things about kids in sad situations does it, but also small things like Oprah (when she was on), seeing my daughters upset. I still don't cry that frequently.

I haven't cried since I was about 11 I think. And then what made me cry was having to choose between my mom and dad. I somewhat wish something would make me cry though, it could be "cleansing" or whatever. I have no idea what makes me cry.

I'm not sure how to describe this but in some movies, when the intensity of the scene is just right I'll cry out of excitement.

Usually, in real life what happens is I feel that crying is appropriate for the situation and would be satisfying and cleansing, but I can't get it out so if I'm by myself I take my time and force out a cry, then try to be over the top as possible to the point of almost hyperventilating. As for a natural cry, I usually get those if I'm depressed. Other than that I can't really think of anything else, not that I've had much of a reason to warrant one in my life so far.

When I was seriously ill for many years I would cry maybe once a year for a moment, when I would realize how much I've suffered.

I sometimes cry through my sleep because of something beautiful in the aesthetic sense, or because of a love long lost.

Hey, I cry at Hallmark commercials. On the other hand, sometimes I am not emotional when something happens in my own life at the time it occurs. (And I can be very detached when discussing it - which others find strange).

I think this is generally because I go into kind of a "fixit" mode when something happens, and then I react later on. Sometimes, much later on. It's just self-preservation on my part since I can't both handle my emotions and be action oriented at the same time.

Not much makes me cry.

However, when it comes to fictional characters I am attached to... that's a whole different story. And I mean really attached. Aside from that, games with great stories make me cry as well. (And I use the word games because I find it harder to feel immersed in a movie or book to the point of tears.)

I have cried after my cat died, after my best friend died, seeing sick kids, listening to certain music, watching some movies, most recently, "Warrior," or failing at something after investing myself fully. When I was a kid, I used to cry in public when I would get really frustrated but couldn't say anything to make myself understood.

Listening to some music by Philip Glass or any music with a lot of minor chords makes me cry.

When I threw my truck into a ditch on a rainy day because of a sneezing fit. (Pollen season)

Sad animes can make me cry.
Such as Saikano, I cried so hard that night. At least an entire hours worth.
