Tell? Hopefully not.

Question? Hopefully reasonably.

Explain? Yes, if it helps. Tell seems like a directive, while explain seems like giving them an option they don't need to take, or may take. It thus seems to keep responsibility with them and the appropriate amount with me too, in a sense.

I find myself showing them how to do things while explaining in a nice way, very often they "get it" some people resent "looking up the food chain".

Sounds more ENTJ

Was thinking the same.

You sure you're an introvert, ipodboy?

I have something of a paternal nature. I like to give people life advice (which I guess is telling them what to do) and if I think I know something about their job that they don't I will let them know.

I don't think it's because I like being bossy or feeling superior, sometimes I just genuinely feel like I know better and I want to share that technology.

Speaking of being bossy, please use the word, "their".

That made me think of the liking of telling people what to do in combination to whether one is the oldest or youngest amongst ones siblings. It's said that the oldest amongst siblings are leaders and the youngest are followers.

Maybe INTJ's that have younger siblings like to lead more than INTJ's that have older siblings?

I sometimes have the urge to do that when I see that something can be done in a better way, but I try to control it because when I do tell people what I think they should do, I start sounding kind of bossy.

Oh yes, but only if I care about what they are / should be doing and I know it's the most efficient / best way. For example if people don't do what I think is the best way to finish a group assignment (only when I'm involved). I see it as an opportunity for others to improve themselves.

- "You tell me when you want me to show you a better way."
- And then I did, and it worked better.

I don't run other peoples lives if they won't run mine. Win/win.

Me too. Apparently this is ISFP territory. Nothing wrong with it as far as I am concerned

I'd rather lead by gentle coaching than by micromanaging.

Constantly. Everyone always does everything wrong. I have to speak up.

If I am the most senior person at work at a particular time and I know from experience, then I do like to take charge. I merely tell my co-workers what they must do, but I never get drunk on power. That's just not my nature.

I range from being principled, perfectionistic, serious, responsible and rational to easy-going, playful, friendly and cheeky.

Unfortunately I am both bossy and completely lacking in subtlety. Therefore, I am abrupt and might appear to be arrogant. Some people appreciate my butting in and helping; some don't. I have tried to learn to tone it down but I wish I had someone around me more often to point it out when I'm being objectionable.
