I haven't used any sort of forums in maybe three years! But this seems like a nice place. Of course, intro threads are always terrible, so I thought I'd just get this over with.

I'm a grad student, I love media studies, philosophy, comparative religion and mythology, and most people I know don't. So here I am!

oh once you see a few hundred intros... you become immune, and even get to say hi to new people who don't look at you suspiciously

it's a really great place to socialize and meet nice and interesting people or wade into the morass of creepier elements with all manner of personalities that would look like a cross section of the real world if you put all of together in a small town.

follow your interests, and we'll all just forget about this intro incident.

ZE is right. I'm flaming, trolling, stalking, lurking, and baiting at least 20 hours a day!

So many nerds to annoy, so little bandwidth...

Debate is something only boring people do. 'Cause, yeah, heard that shit already. Give me experiences instead.

My intro thread was awesome. Of course, I'm also not gonna say I wasn't full of myself either and took 90 minutes to craft something witty. Because that's how long it takes when I'm sober.

Welcome!

I love those things too! From a distance -- I don't know very much about them. Although I'll watch the occasional documentary.
