Part of making a stand is accepting the consequences of that stand.

I only read the one article so far, and maybe someone already hit on this, but...
The 'young man's' foster mother came in and complained? Was he under 18? Or a grown pussy who still has his foster mother fight his battles for him? And when asked for ID, he didn't give ID, he handed her an EBT card? I don't know about over there, but over here, EBT cards don't even have your name on them. I commend her for standing up for her values. Fuck that job, it's a convenience store. I'd quit a convenience store job just if I didn't like the flavor of slurpee they have, they can go climb a big wall of dicks if they want me to do something that I find morally wrong. |

The lady wanted to fight a just battle, but she chose the wrong battlefield. Getting fired doesn't help anyone.

There is no winning for me here. I lament declining workers' rights. I lament a food stamp system aimed primarily at ensuring poor people's ability to be consumers (and none-arily at their health and wellbeing). I lament the constant in-fighting of the people, restricting their ability to develop revolutionary consciousness. I lament the sensationalist nature of this thread.
