Has anyone gotten this game? It is a HUGE time burner, especially in campaign mode. The gist of the game, is that you are an individual soldier that has the capability of leading an army (but you must gain many levels before you can lead a full-fledged army). The funnest part is mounted combat, i have experimented with all the kinds of weapons so far and they all have their pros and cons to them.

Own all three; the original, Warband, and With Fire and Sword. Lots of mods for the original, Warband's multiplayer is awesome (use a RPG-leveling mod), while Fire and Sword gets very tricky (guns make the game much harder).

From Turkey, still very rough around the edges, but there really isn't anything out like it. Still play it for the mounted combat, from time to time. How many games let you charge a line of musketeers in first person?

I played one version of it and the first person view while charging makes it stand out. I am amazed nobody else has done this. Even medieval total war hasn't gone there and it damn well should have.

Fire and Sword is hard because you only have one life. A stupid militiaman can kill you with a basic musket, despite you wearing the best armor in the game. Which is very realistic, but requires you to change your tactics...liking hiring your own cannon-fodder. And even then, you will still take the stray bullet.

Morale of the story? It sucked being a soldier in the 17th century!
