For me, and for everyone else, when we feel physically horrible, we are generally more irritable, sensitive, angry, depressed, etc. But for me specifically (and I don't know if anyone else could understand this explanation): when I feel physically awful it feels as if I am depressed. Exhaustion feels exactly like depression. Dissociation and stress feels exactly like depression. Sometimes I have to convince myself in these states that I'm not depressed, and that I don't have anything to be depressed about; that I'm just feeling physically bad.
I'll give you an example; last night being the event that triggered my curiosity in this matter. I spent about 5 hours playing texas hold 'em with a group of friends. By the late hours, I was beginning to feel dissociated, exhausted, and like something was wrong. After everyone had left, I was cleaning up the house and just felt awful. Given, it was 12:30AM, but I was seeing in tunnel-vision (typical of me being in an extremely stressed state, though I wasn't this time...), and felt absolutely and totally drained. My memory span was also horrible; i.e. I couldn't remember what I was doing/thinking about 30 seconds ago. It sounds like a stupid question, it really does, but I'm curious to see if anyone can pick up what I'm throwing down. |

Well, when I'm energetic I feel excited, when I'm aching all over I don't feel like doing anything. The mind and body are interlinked.

Its a brain chemical thing. Everyone does this. Certain things (feelings or physical sensations) kick off chemical responses in the brain, which in turn cause more physical responses. Perfectly normal unless you are dead.

Great point. I've made some major changes to my diet and other habits lately after realizing how much my physiology affects my mood and performance.
I think many INTJs need to make an effort to be more conscious of this connection as (if you all are like me) what we put into our bodies and how we treat it can easily become an afterthought in relation to our mental activities. However the two are so closely connected that it would be very foolish to ignore the relationship. |

There are medical mimics of mental disorders, so a physical foundation would be intimately linked with mood.

Uhm. Have you not written elsewhere that you are horribly depressed and asking for advice on what to do about it? Is that only when physically bad, or are you then double-up depressed?
I can't say being tired makes me feel depressed. Being in a cycle, with pain constantly for 2-3 weeks, does put me in a state that is very similar to depression. But I don't think that's quite what you were looking for, yes? |

if i drink too MUCH i feel horrible. a little usually makes things better. exercise is exhausting unless it's something fun like dancing. i tried doing ellipticals recently and it was really torturous... ugh gym. |

I'm not as depressed as I was, say, months ago; now I only suffer from minor depression here and there. |
