Have you ever considered writing a manual about yourself? None

This is sort of a spin-off of the excellent thread "View First Unread Things INTJs wish other types knew about them... "

1. If you have a question about how I feel about something...then A-S-K me! I am sure that I have it archived around somewhere.

A quick read of the replies, shows not only is there a lot of things people wish others knew, but a lot of things I personally identify with. And that reminded me of the many MANY nights where I seriously considered writing a users manual about myself, to hand out to friends and future friends.

In my mind, I'm one of the easiest people ever to deal with because unlike all those other pesky individuals, I actually know exactly how I want others to act, and I'll give you a detailed explanation. Not my fault they seem unable to listen! /in denial

So, I figured perhaps if I write it down as a FAQ or something alike, in a pdf, maybe they'll actually be able to remember what to do when.

Anyone else find themselves thinking that when people you know can't seem to get the most basic things right in their communication with you? Anyone ever did it for real? Did it work? xD

I'm pretty sure I'm going to do so at some point, I just need to be in the right mind set. Tired of having to explain myself over and over =P

Yea I wrote a manual about myself. The intended used couldn't understand it. I broke emotions down into mathematical functions.

No manual needed for me; although I believe my manual is already written and available for the world to see here at INTJf. It might take a while to compile and understand, but once someone do, they will know how I am, what I believe on, and what ticks me off.

Funny. My daughter said once she was going to write one for me to give to future suiters. For my care and feeding.

I am a trained technical writer. Writing manuals is my daily business. I have thought about writing one about myself. The "Troubleshooting" section might take up a big part of it though

I once wrote an outline explaining the behavior of myself and fellow family members (on my dad's side) since we are notorious for our weirdness, according to outsiders.

I think almost all of us are IxTx's.

No. Disinterest in being worked, used or needing to explain myself to others.

I've pointed a few extroverted people I know to the Atlantic's "Caring for Your Introvert" article. I don't know if it helped, (I don't think it did) but it at least served as an entertaining introduction to those who have little or no idea where I'm coming from (i.e., why I'm so "weird.")

A manual is an intriguing idea... it might even be fun, though I doubt I would ever take the time to write one.

By the time I wrote it...it would be out of date.

Who would bother reading it?

You have a template for writing a manual about how a person functions? Shoot! I'm curious.

Actually writing a manual would be a little over the top for me. I try to just tell people when I need to think, process, visualise, whatever.

No, I'd much rather have a manual written about everyone else. I'm sure many inaccurate inferences will be made about that statement, whatever.

Yes, for all those who have decided to stay close to me in old real life. I don't have this need online though. I have tried to analyze what makes the difference. Once I find the final conclusion, I'll add it as an explanatory footnote to my manual.

I would feel such a sense of disgust that it would be too revolting for me even to begin writing such a thing (just my feeling)

Not an INTJ here but I am complex enough to have written a manual so that an ex-Cuban friend could understand me better. She might have been an INTJ. The manual didn't help. We just spoke different languages and couldn't find common ground.

BTW, she was a hypocondriac who now specializes in pain medicine and anesthesiology. I find that amusing for some reason.

I wrote one for myself where I listed all the traits I thought were peculiar to me, trailed the internet to find people who could relate and try and understand why I behaved the way I did and how that could lead to other people misunderstanding me
