Mine would be Atlantic Kelp powder. I wish someone had forewarned me what it tasted like so that I wouldn't have been curious enough to try it.
For what it's worth the taste was how I imagine eating a small fish washed up from the ocean and rotting on the sand hovered over by flies for several days might have tasted like, uncooked. So at least you can make an informed decision if ever presented with this dietary option in future... your turn! |

I ordered some dumplings at a restaurant...they were decent. Then when I was almost done eating them, I noticed a lump at the bottom of the soup. I turns out I had ordered the brain dish...I had just seen the characters for "pork dumpling" and ignored the rest. The character for 'brain' was right there. That's an entire class of characters with the moon radical (signifying internal organs) that I should know to avoid by now.

Not recently, but: Tripe.
I can only imagine what sort of desperation or dare would prompt someone to say "Hmmm, that cows stomach lining sure does look yummy." |

Haven't eaten anything disgusting for years. If it doesn't smell good, won't touch it. My nose is pretty sensitive.
But the most disgusting thing ever eaten was sea cucumber. The texture is like rubberised fat and the flavour, fishy rubber. i think the kelp powder beats all of those DISGUSTING TASTE wise. texture wise...yeah some entrails are pretty bad. I saw my uncle eat a fish eyeball before...that takes guts! and something I definitely would not do even for a good bribe!
and that filipino delicacy of the baby chicken (with beak) in the egg....absolutely no way. |

I ate at a mexican restaurant a few nights ago. I was looking over the menu, and I noticed the 'Chicken Pipian (which is essentially a chicken on some cooked vegetables covered in ground up pumpkin seeds).' I looked at it and thought to myself "Well, something so outlandish couldn't possibly be a normal dish; It must be the cook's specialty, and be much more delicious than its name suggests."
It wasn't. It was just a burnt chicken on burnt vegetables covered in burnt (and Cuisinart-ed) pumpkin seeds. I ended up leaving the restaurant and walking back to my home to eat some leftover casserole. On the other hand, I didn't have to pitch in for the bill, so I suppose that there is a bright side to it. |

Cow tongue, the texture, smell, everything was awful. Closely followed by sheep eyes. I don't mind fish eyes, maybe its a size thing.

I like cow tounge. Except for the texture that reminds me I'm eating a tounge. It's quite savory.
Haven't had any eyes, sea cucumber, kelp powder, baby-chick-in-egg, or brain yet. I think the most disgusting thing I've eaten is bitter melon. Its a squash in Thailand that's supposed to be 'healthy' for you. A broth made from its soup and flavored with pork is good. The vegtable itself has the flavor of raw zucchini skin permeating its flesh. |

The taste itself is not bad, I think knowing I am eating a tounge just creeps me out for some reason. |

I was with some people I just met and I thought it would be funny to eat a caterpillar and freak them out.
It was gross and it made my tong go numb. It tasted like rotting plant matter. It was really funny though. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |

I'd be careful if I were you. This guy recently ate a snail or a slug for a dare and he got some weird parasitic infection which I think was eating his brain...cos I think he is all brain damaged now.
