Typing in this case meaning typing on a keyboard, such as your computer keyboard.

I am quite the typing nerd, and once I realized I was fairly good at it, I started doing the occasional test just for fun. It's an ability I am rather proud of, for several reasons. So, I'm wondering if there happens to be any other typing nerds out there =)

I figure since INTJ's are prone to computer-related topics, there ought to be more than one who developed some quick typing skills over the years.

If you are curious of your speed, you can test it here:

I just got 89WPM on that test (on my third attempt), and I'm using a laptop. Having worked for the past 8 years as a closed captioning editor/transcriptionist helps, I guess.

Cool =) It seems 80-90 WPM is the range most online people that type actively falls in.

89 WPM on a laptop though, that's pretty cool. I would probably get 1/3 of my regular score. I suck at laptops. Or laptop inspired keyboards. Needs my awesome 10ish year old keyboard to work, haha. (I didn't use it for 10, I bought it on at a yard sale from a guy who never used it)

Mine was 101. I took a keyboarding class ages ago in high school but it was internet chatting that really taught me how to type fast.

Got this on my PC:
Words per minute (WPM) 77

You reached 384 Points so you achieved position 7702 of 96791 on the ranking list (last 24 hours)

Then took it on a laptop:
Words per minute (WPM) 86
Keystrokes 438
Correct words 84
Wrong words 1

That's really funny. Faster, and more accurate, on laptop. I guess that's what you are used to.

I guess I'll post my own stats now =) My record on that site is 133 WPM, with 2 errors. With actual text, containing punctuation and more types of characters, I'm somewhere around 110 WPM.

106 WPM...I use a split/ergonomic keyboard. I generally score higher when I have natural language, than random words like this test.

First attempt:

Words per minute (WPM): 81
Keystrokes: 403
Correct words: 75
Wrong words: 0

I would guess I used to be a lot faster when I was typing for a lot more of my time. I still find it interesting how we learn to type without looking when we've spent so long at it.

I only use two fingers of my right hand when I type so this is only 7/10ths of my actual typing speed.

I usually type 70 wpm on average, with no spelling mistakes and proper grammar. I prefer to take my time when typing.
I suppose that's good, but nothing remarkable. I'm a much better reader.
