Slowing Server? - Page 3

Excruciatingly slow now. No incoming VM or PM so haven't a clue what's going on.

yes! this has been happening pretty frequently. and general slow-to-load pages, going back to the "unread posts" or "user cp"
poor overloaded servers. did we just get too popular for our own good?

A little sluggish this morning, page loads take about ten seconds most times, but can be as fast as five or as slow as fifteen.

The recent maintenance was only to diagnose the problem. I didn't actually change anything. Since the problem is intermittent there will be times when it isn't as noticeable. I am working on getting this fixed as soon as possible and will make another announcement on the forum when the maintenance is complete.

Update: We just finished maintenance so now the forum should be faster. If anyone continues to experience slow loading times please let me know.

Server's incredibly slow for me right now. Earlier (~15-20 minutes) it wouldn't load at all and I got a 'server is busy' error. Not sure if this is a continuation of our old problem or not.

The server runs automated backup and maintenance tasks during offpeak hours which sometimes causes slowness. The schedule coincides with the above posts so that might have been all it was. This shouldn't last long though, so if anyone notices the slowness continuing please let me know and I'll investigate further.

For the last two days, I've had pages load extremely slowly, even at different times of the day from different sites. Compared to my past experience with page loads on this forum, this is very unusual. Not sure what to make of it.

If it's happening on multiple sites, either those sites are simultaneously experiencing slowdown, or your connection is.

If a slow down occurs when connecting from different locations at different times of the day to a common site, then the slowdown is more logically coming from the site being connected to, in this case INTJf. This would account for different local servers using different connection points into a backbone. It still points to a potential problem closer the the INTJf servers such as a router, load balancer, or server that hosts INTJf.

Forum as a whole has been slow for me for about past two weeks, sometimes working better, oftentimes not.

I first thought the issue might me in my end but it seems other pages regardless of location work just fine. I'm located in Finland (gmt +2). After reading about maintenance etc. schedule, I thought that might be the reason as I am mostly active in so-called offpeak hours, but I still have the same problem even when I'm online at US peak hours.

Approximately 2:58 a.m. (est) can access everything except VMs using alert link. Database error.

Approximately 3:34 a.m. (est) was locked in VM submission but was able to open a new window and access the INTJf index but the new posts search function lagged for quite a number of minutes.

E - This post took somewhere between 5 - 6 minutes to post while the sound of 56K dial up was playing in my head.
