You don't need a powerful power supply unit (PSU), but it needs to be a good quality one. I usually go to

That is a very vague error message. Power supply issue is one of three possibilities, the two other software related, but you're not drawing much extra current.

I hope you got backup.
1st rule before messing with your computer when you are clueless is to have a backup. If not, then a clean reinstallation and download the newest drivers should help you get the system to stop crashing unless there's a hardware problem. You may also want to check your BIOS to make sure the settings are not screwed up. |

Not worried about data inside.
No need for backup. *played a full game of LoL online game (about 40 minutes) with no crash *about an hour later received a message that NVIDIA driver failed but recovered *just crashed with 0x0000003B SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION error message To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. couple things you could do...
1. check if your MB manufacturer have updated driver update for your system 2. check NVidia for latest driver for your system 3. run a memtest 4. check at different power plug source(your earlier post) 5. check if your hardware and cables are connected securely 6. check BIOS to see if settings are too high (i.e. overclock stressed out CPU) 7. update your windows 8. manually check your system components to see if they are compatible 9. take it to a local computer nerd store to have them fix it |

Download the ultimate boot cd
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. run a memory diagnostic like memtest86+ and let it run one pass to check for errors, scan the hard disk for errors with your manufacturer's diagnostic utility or the vivard, check your power supply voltages the 12v, 5v, and 3.3v should not be +- more than 10% at the maximum. If they are replace your power supply. tools like speedfan or some bioses hardware health page can show you your voltages but are not as reliable as actually using a power supply tester device. Make sure it's not overheating by checking your temps with a program like coretemp or speedfan, blow out your fans if clogged with dust. Check for video card errors by looping 3Dmark and seeing if you can replicate the crash. Update all your drivers, update windows, and check for rootkits with a tool like tddskiller, maybe update your motherboards and or video card's firmware if you haven't attempted this before best not to as it could brick your system if you don't know what you are doing. If all that doesn't fix it try a reformat as a last resort. |

--Did you run the driver cleaner in safe mode? It won't work otherwise.
so... now video. simplest is to try a live disk of win7 fresh install. your software should be well supported, try knoppix or something. #2 Boot up in BIOS, check your suspend mode, should be S3 I think, win7 could have problems when this is elsewhere. Otherwise you may want to try: #3 Look for anything related to powersaving in nvidia config dialog, and disable them, assign everything to constant max performance. #3-2 Could you go back where you turned off the USB powersave, and disable or turn to 'max perfomance" anything video or multimedia related, actually try even without any sort of powersaving ? (Reboot again.) Do you have malware/firewall etc protection on top of the win7 stuff? (they can cause weird issues on their own) #4 Post the results of To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Last for now I guess, if the above doesn't work try disabling your card as you did before and see what happens. |

Honestly, at this point, I'll tell anyone who asks for my help to bring it to me to look at. You may want to consider taking it to someone to diagnose. You've done more than you should reasonably be expected to do.

Glad you have the proper attitude towards fixing this.
The research I did suggests SP1 introduced a lot of problems with powermanagement. For example, if your gfx card drivers attempts to regulate its own gpu/mem clock it can cause the type of random crash you're seeing. For VLC, either make sure the correct audio is selected in prefs/if this fails you may need to re-install the codecs it uses. Now if all your drivers were failing due to power management, something tells me your BIOS settings are likely incorrect. A mismatch in the protocol between drivers-->windows-->bios could likely cause an auto-shutdown, by design as safety precaution. Looks good, is it still crashing? you may also want to prevent windows from turning off your audiocard (device mgr)
You can set your monitor to shut off after a certain time, if you wish - I think it relies on different methods. (in screensaver settings/i think, using linux atm so I can't see) If the problems persist I suggest you have a good look at BIOS settings. As long as you don't touch processor and voltage related stuff you should be fine. ie: just disabling useless hardware, doublechecking power management settings and anything related to video.... Worse case is, no-boot into OS... but if you keep track of what you do you can easily revert going back in BIOS. Does windows media player work? If not reinstall directx. |

You're having kernel problems, 0x7E stops (BSoDs), unable to hit certain websites, etc. Sounds like 'Alureon', aka TDSS / TDLx. Grab yourself a copy of TDSSKiller and run it in safe mode.

I also would recommend TDSSkiller, I wrote a guide for spyware and virus removal. |
