Is there any possiblities that mbti is some kind of mind control? I don't know what the reason might be, or what those who made it would gain from it, but I think they really succeeded with putting people into boxes, and control them...even if they are dead now, the theory and supporters lives

How are them supposed to control us - or the boxes in which we are?

MBTI only attempts (and believe me if you've really studied the literature it is only an attempt, not a success) to describe how people process and act upon information and stimuli. It in general gives you a rough idea of thier approch to things and thier probable philosopical orientation. Beyond this it can't nor does a whole lot.

Doubtful.

My mind worked like this before I took any MBTI test. I'm probably not the only one. I wouldn't say the results of the test controlled my mind, but my mind controlled the results of the test. I wouldn't say that it puts me into a box, because I realize that the MBTI may tell me how I tend to approach things (at least it attempts to), but it doesn't tell me what I actually approach, and there is plenty of room for variation among individuals in that domain. Also, people may score different percentages of each letter (function). So if anyone is put into a box it's because people aren't taking into account individual differences among people who score the same four letters. People are not their "type".

If anything people may form groups with others of the same MBTI (such as INTJf) and certain individuals may become more polarized within their MBTI, but I'd say this is due to group polarization (coincidentally based on the MBTI) rather than the MBTI itself, and this assumes that those individuals weren't polarized in the first place.

Agreed. Perhaps there is influence, meaning the theory makes sense to a lot of people or otherwise there wouldn't be many supporters (assuming that people support it because they think it makes sense, and not that it makes sense because people support it, if that makes any sense...).

Only if you allow it to control you. It's not different than any other categorization, and you can pretty much categorize people however you want, using any standard you can think of. The biggest mistake is when you start identifying yourself primarily as a member of that category. Just be yourself, don't put yourself in a category box.

It's a conspiracy man...

However, I have noticed that people who take MBTI types too seriously seem to forget that there's more to individuals than their type - they start to see people more in terms of their type than the person themselves. Is that more like what you're getting at?
