I have arrived at a sort of metaphor for how I see happiness in life.

The Foundation

Self: awareness, acceptance, actualization.

You must be happy with yourself before you can be happy in life

The Four Pillars

Friends, family, lover(s), hobbies

Each of these should occupy part of your day. I have found that when you include 1 of each of these in your day, you are almost always happy.

The Roof

Resources. Whether it's money, connections, a good job, or a combination of all.

This forms a shelter against winds and tides of the times. It protects and supports the Pillars and the Foundation.

I visualize this like the Parthenon.
