I took the exceedingly long personality test a decade ago and, while I can't remember exactly what category I fell into, I'm fairly certain it was INTJ. I've a niece going to college next fall and am trying to direct her to sites that can help her understand what she needs or how she sees the world and found one that gave this test in 4 questions. While I found I fell into both categories, after all I'm a Libra(!), I did choose the "side" that fit best and....Voila! INTJ.
With the other test I took, there was a sliding scale for each category which is probably a good idea because it indicates areas where you might be able to work with others (INTJ's being rare).Anyway, I thought I'd check out more info and found this forum. Question.... the problem with INTJ is that I don't really have a problem (in my mind) with the INTJ, after all, we know best. But I have a Pisces moon that totally screws with the feelings part and I can find myself being very sensitive - with my environment, other people's moods, etc. This runs counter to INTJ and am wondering if anyone else finds themselves straddling this sort of fence and how they deal with it? |

I am also a pisces and have had the same issues with emotional sensitivity with situations. I have developed over time, because I had to, an internal dialog with myself regarding what is affecting me so emotionally. In that internal dialog, if I don't find a good answer I turn to a trusted friend or mentor. In my case, that is usually my husband. If I don't, I tend to act out without thinking which usually causes a problem. Even if I don't agree with my husband, I usually then understand what I need to do. Does that make sense? I guess I am saying a good sounding board never hurts. Even if they are not right.

Greetings, and welcome! Sensitivity is not uncommon among INTJs, but it is something we keep contained internally, as best I understand it.

Yes, I'm sensitive. Not overly so, and the person who is most likely to get me upset is myself. If I don't meet my own expectations, then I beat myself up. If someone else is critical of something I do, I'm often annoyed because I'm thinking, "Geez, don't they know I already noticed that and am working on it?"
