Wondering, I'm trying to get a cologne for my SO for Christmas, but I'm having a hard time. He likes manly odors like old spice and statin (whatever that is).

Any ideas? What are your favorite man cologne and why? Also, please provide a description if feasible of the smell (I.e., smells like flowers and fruits, etc.). Thx

Old skool but never gets old for me. If attracted, this cologne makes me want to lick him all over.

Aqua di Gio

An excerpt description:

Its composition offers a fine balance of herbs, marine notes, sea air and gentle spices, enriched with woody accords. The fragrant composition offers accords of bergamot, neroli, persimmon, sea notes, rosemary, jasmine, watercress, amber, patchouli and labdanum.

I'm a sucker for bergamot and jasmine.

You definitely have to get something that fits his personality.

Is he more masculine? More Seductive? Playful? Goofy? Etc...

Let me see if I can find that Men's Health article on cologne.. its really good.

I tend to like the colognes made by Hugo Boss. I'm afraid I can't give you any specific names but every time I catch a hint of one my brain turns to mush.

I don't often use cologne, but when I do, I use just a hint of Jean Paul Gautier's Le Male. It smells like "a blend of warm fresh mint, vanilla, lavender, orange blossom and woods."

I wear it because smelling like candy attracts small children. Kidding.

Fierce from Abercrombie and Fitch tends to be universally popular among females I know if used in moderation. Everyone will know you're a compete douch bag, but at least you'll smell pretty.

I wear Givenchy Blue. I spray my greetings cards with it as well. One of my receivers smelled it and said "We're going to do a lot of hugging!"

I've gotten a few compliments when I've worn Kenneth Cole's Reaction cologne. It's a somewhat light daytime cologne so it's not obscenely erotic (smells of musk (not too intense), grapefruit, patchouli, mandarin, melon rind, green apple) but it smells good and it doesn't come across too heavily. Oddly enough, I smelled it in a magazine and decided to buy a bottle. Didn't even know if women would find it appealing until I wore it.

Dove smells awesome. I used to work for Unilever and I always enjoyed seeing visitors from the manufacturing plant. They trailed a combination scent of Sunlight laundry detergent and Dove soap.
Very appealing.

Happy shopping in any event, PRBori. Hope you can find something both of you will like.

I'm in love with Armani's "Maniac" for men. It's a citrus, but it mixes spice and musk in a unique, fresh and really masculine way. Most stores will let you sample a few, which is a great feature, fragrances don't smell the same on different people. "Maniac" and the one Nemesis mentioned, "Le Male" are sexy sexy sexy!!

My SO just got premier Homme Dead Sea Minerals after shave balm and is smells so good. Is a soft manly smell with a mix of oils of frankincencse and geranium. Highly recommend it.
