I am using a dating website right now. For some reason, I often see pictures of women from more rural areas and think to myself: "She is not ugly per se. However, she looks kind of inbred." It's weird. It's like I can see in their eyes.
I just thought about it and realized the following, I probably would not be attracted to a woman if her entire ancestry has been in America pre-Independence. I'd like a woman to have a wide variety of European ancestries (half-mediteranian, half-Scandinavian is ideal.) The insertion of darker race (middle eastern, Indian, etc.) (25% would be perfect) can replace the Mediterranean. When it comes to (east) Asians, I prefer them full-blooded. I kind of went of on a tangent. But anyways, what are your thoughts on this? Am I too picky or do you agree with my choices? |

I am from a rural area. Many of my ancestors were here pre-Independence. I assure you I am not inbred. Far less inbred than many Europeans, I'm willing to bet. I am highly suspicious that I have African and Jewish ancestors that are not acknowledged.
Hispanics often mistake me for Hispanic and speak to me in Spanish. I worked with an Eastern European who assumed I was also Eastern European. I am neither. |

Very likely if you have the darker features. Many Americans from the older English/Dutch families are likely to have some African in them from the slavery.
This serves them very well in the gene pool as opposed to their "pure" peers. |

I have dated a number of different races, and with it different looks(and still would). I don't think the specifics of it are very important. As long as there's attraction things are fine. In this way i like to think i'm keeping the horse in front of the cart.
If that to you requires genetic specifics, so be it, but it sounds pretty inconvenient to me. |

I'm from a rural area as well, and I can assure you we're not all inbred. In fact, I do suspect a few of my pharmacy customers of being inbred, but they live in the city, so....?

I love when people have mixed ethnic backgrounds. I'm personally Russian and Latina. However, for me it's not a requirement at all. No matter how sexy someone might be, if they have a bad attitude, I won't want to talk to them anymore.

I suspect the inbred thing you're talking about is more a class related issue of someone looking rough around the edges from living a rough life.
Europeans are hardly pure blooded. Ghengis Khan made sure of that. Plenty of Mongolian blood to go around. Also earlier there was migration from the Middle East. How do you think wheat and barley made its way to mainland Europe? Also, most of the domesticated agricultural animals are not native to Europe. I believe cows came from either the ME or Asia. For the most part, there is a lot of romantic fantasy around blood lines and genetics. Guilty of same here. All romance. The facts tell a different story. Maybe this should be required learning in 3rd grade. |

I lived in a rural town once that was separated by river and had a strong dislike for the next town over. Everyone did look a like and everyone's grand parents knew each other from grade school.

Thinking they "look inbred" is just mean. Has it ever occurred to you that they could be just plain ol' ugly?

Wasn't that basically...Edie Sedgwick, one of the hottest women ever? (I don't know her entire family tree, but it certainly appears that was the case.) |

I think you would likely never know if someone's entire ancestory had been in America pre-Independence unless they told you. There's no way to look at someone and tell that. |

Your perception of people as percentages is fucked up.

Never said people are merely percentages. (though in a strict sense they physically could be construed that way. |

Not quite sure what you are looking for, but it seems that your preferences are an attempt to find a genetically dissimilar partner. Hate to break it to you, but appearances are only a fraction of our genetic makeup and are not a good indicator of overall genetic variability. |

Hang on a tick, say you have two siblings who are both a healthy mixture of ancestries and ethnicities, and they both 'inbreed' and produce offspring. How are you to tell that offspring is inbred if they lack any sort of physical congenital defect?

I'm from the South. I'm from a rural part of the South. My name-side of the family has been in America since the late 1600s (damn the ancestors for picking the wrong side in the "Glorious Revolution").
In any event, I can assure my family is not inbred. In fact, the only reason my family tree doesn't branch in certain places is because it seems nymphos run in the family and not quite all the wimmenz married their baby-daddy (we wuz ghetto before ghetto wuz kewl). :-) |

I think you should put these requirements in your online profile along with your other specific requirement for companionship and romantic expectations. At least it will help weed out the ones with insufficient (for your taste) genetic diversity, as well as those without the intellectual insight to see things the way you do. |

If you put too strict of ethnic requirements on potential spouses, then that doesn't leave you with that great of a chance to actually find someone. I'm sure you find plenty of women attractive despite their ancestral history. As long you're attracted to them and they have the mind-set of a female you want, go for it (unless you think some ethnic groups are predisposed to behaviors that you find unattractive). That's just my two-cents worth. Everyone has different preferences though.

Name a demographic you wouldn't date, and I will find a girl from that demographic that you would crawl a mile on your lips to get next too.
