Am a novice at it, but would like to really get into motion graphics, kinetic text and the like. Seems like a much more interesting way to get a point across.
Anyone have ideas for free or low-cost software to get acclimated before moving up to a more permanent solution? Thanks |

I think the best thing to do is probably to move up from the beggining, since It is much better to work with pro tools. I would recommend Adobe Premiere or Final Cut. If you have a mac, definately get Final Cut. Its top notch, used in Hollywood, and worth learning.
By the way, if you can't afford it you can always pir ate it. |

Final Cut Pro is the top for video editing.
Motion or After Effects or whatever program you want to get into will take a TON of time to learn. Start learning. It is extremely complex, but you're able to create beautiful things when you get the hang of it. |

Not sure about how it is for what you're thinking, but
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. is a great (ed) free (/ed)3D modelling tool, I'm pretty certain animation is all included too. What's more is that there's a large community that use and support it, so recent tutorials won't be hard to find from beginner to expert. I'm no modeller but I've used this one before and it's actually really fun! P.S. don't do the dolphin tutorial. |

It really depends on what kind of video animation you're looking to do, as tools available solve different problems in that scope. (e.g. 3D/2D, Vector/Raster).
The first thing that comes to mind for kenetic text is Flash, it supports simple key frame animation. |
